What's new

Jaren Jackson Jr. traded to the Jazz

Hope we keep Landale... Ingles 2.0 for attitude and fans will love him if he gets court time. Solid in the rotation. Time to cash in on Nurks good play.

I too always thought JJJ was overrated but he always seems to kills the jazz so I'm intrigued.

Fair bit of pressure on the next draft pick, makes or breaks us

His lack of athleticism makes him a bit of liability on defence, he does his best and plays with a lot of heart but its always gonna be a negative.

I’m almost positive we’re gonna walk away from this year with a top 6 pick Keyonte Ace Lauri and JJJ that sounds pretty right to me

And how are the jazz supposed to build a title worthy team? If we don’t get a top 3 pick in this draft we are screwed and back in that old familiar spot too good to build through the draft not good enough to win in the playoffs. The only way that Jazz are going to contend as if we get a top 5 to 10 player and the only way we’re doing that is through the draft which means we need a high-end pick after this year we ain’t getting that and we probably ain’t getting it now unless the Jazz truly become despicable with their tanking methods so please tell me how this is the right way? we just got screwed over by two former BYU players go figure.

Or we go and get a top 3 pick and despite all of the promise of the top three this year there is NO GUARANTEE they are a special player no matter how many top 3 picks we get through tanking… we could end up with a Micheal Beasley, Darko, Exum, Fultz, Ball, Wiseman the list goes on there is truly no such thing as a can’t miss prospect

I hate the die hard tankers idea that endless losing will somehow guarantee us a top 5 player in the league because that’s just simply not true I mean how many of the top 5 right now were top 5 picks?

I agree if we lose our pick this year the trade becomes a little worse but if we end up with 6 there’s no guarantees that player is worse than the player drafted at 2 I mean for crying out loud Keyonte at 16 has been MUCH better than scoot Henderson at 2 in their draft class

EVEN IF WE LOSE OUR PICK THIS YEAR our core is now good enough to atleast be competitive for a long time and if Keyonte ends up being that guy which is a possibility not a lot of people have been talking about we can be great without a top 5 pick who might be out of the league in 5 years

I truly do think we end up keeping our pick this year and turn into a really really solid team who win a lot and go deep in the playoffs and the people who hate this trade will look back on this and realize they were stupid for wanting to lose for the next 10 years HOPING we somehow LUCK into a top 5 player

Your and to be honest alot of peoples defeatist my way or the highway tanking routine is getting old and that time is up.

What is this myth that you can only get a top 5-10 player with a high-end pick.

The Ringer recently released its top 100 current NBA players. 5 of the top 10 players, including 3 of the top 5, went at these draft spots:

41st
11th
15th
13th
15th

5 of the players ranked 11-20 went at these draft spots:

33rd
21st
13th
16th
20th

Are you more likely to get a great player with a top pick? Sure. Is the only way to get a great player through a high-end pick? Obviously not.

Most likely outcome is that none of the picks we traded end up being as good as JJJ.

Stockton 16th
Malone 13th
===========
Kanter 3rd
Exum 5th

Looks like some sure things at the top end in the 2026, but you can never take it to the bank.

I don’t want to just be competitive the jazz have beat it down like a dead horse into oblivion. When JJJ’s contract is up in 4 years it will be time to blow it up again and we’re back to where we started after we traded Don and Rudy. I care about now is championships. I don’t care about winning. I don’t care about losing all I care about is championships and the road the Jazz are on if we don’t get a top three pick and if it doesn’t hit this year, then we’re screwed and then this whole thing becomes a circle. Remind me the definition of crazy.
