Jason Thompson might be on the block

I find that hard to believe - Demarcus Cousins is getting less and less minutes and he's already got into it with someone on the coaching staff (he probably threatened Pete Carill with his life for having the nerve to ask him to box out).

Looks like he'll have to be fitted for a strait jacket any day now.

I, too, find that hard to believe. Jason Thompson as your starting C isn't the greatest thing, and he's not a GREAT starting PF, but as a 3rd big that can play both positions that puts you in a really good spot, IMO. He's a bit skinny, and he's no bruiser, but he seems to be a fundamentally sound player on both ends of the court that produces when given minutes.
 
lets be real here folks we are the jazz not the lakers. We will never overpay for as much as he will get for a backup. Sure id love to have him. Would fit in well in the motion and he can shoot it. Having 3 bigs would be a nice problem to have. If we drafted a legit sf this year we mite have been able to do away with ak, but with all that said why mess with chemistry plus okur even if he is 75 percent is still best shooting big man in league and will be a fine 3rd off bench. Fesenko and elson are both capable 3rd and 4th big men and they are not overpaid plus as of now we got ak who can play some 4 also remember

We are unlikely to get thompson without giving up one of the others. We have more depth at PF/C than the wings so adding a PF/C for a wing makes no sense. So one of th bigs would have to go to land Thompson.

I'm not sure about this move though don't know enough about him.
 
Apparently, Demarcus Cousins is clashing with Paul Westphal (who doesn't?). I'd give up a package including Memo and/or Fes for Cousins. I'd rather have Memo + Fes than Jason Thompson (hell, I might prefer Fes alone to Thompson).

eh? Cousins is cheap and has skill at a position of long-term need (true 5). Memo is getting older and is paid a lot, Fes may be gone next season. If the price isn't too high, why not swing for the fences (I realize your post was, at least somewhat, in jest)?
 
Fesenko is doing fine, no reason to go after some scrub like Thompson on a perennial cellar dwelling team.

....obviously, Demarcus' hopper style is not going over too well with Westphal! But what does Westphal know, anyhow? He was only one of the top 25 smartest guys to ever put on an NBA uniform when he played.
 
It's a nice thought, but I'm gonna say no. The Kings don't have anything we want that we'd be willing to part with, and our frontcourt rotatin will already be clogged enough when Memo gets back.

9'5'' standing reach, guard skills, a competitive fire very few current players have. Dude is grabbing 6 boards (4.3 defensive...just what the Jazz need) in 21 minutes. He's gonna be a beast.
 
I would trade Memo for Cousins. Just because i believe Cousins is going to be really good and Memo's best years are definitely behind him. As for Memo+ Fess. I don't think I'd advocate that.

I think it's highly unlikely the Jazz end up as champs this season. Cousins at an average of less than $4mil for 4 years (when the Jazz might have the chance to make a real push) v. Fes for one and Memo for two years is a no brainer for me.

Doesn't matter. Sacramento will get much better deals if they choose to move Cousins.
 
I'd only take Cousins if he came with a labotomy - he's not even 21 yet and he already got a **** attitude.

Head cases usually don't get better with age and this got a early start.
