Nuggets are ****ed. They wont make the playoffs (most likely) and are going to be paying the LT next season unless they figure out how to shed salary (either by giving up a draft pick, or maybe Lyles).

They could avoid the LT if they take the team option on Jokic, making him a minimum contract for another year, but that would allow him to be a UFA in 2019. They should probably just play it safe and pay Jokic tho.

Yeah, when you go from paying a guy a minimum contract to a max contract, things go up quickly. Plus they have the final year of paying Millsap 30 million, which was a huge overpay for a playoff push that failed.
