Jazz 2017 Pre-Season Thread

Lowe post with Zach Lowe has Kevin Arnovitz as a guest today and they both have the Jazz as one of the most confusing teams and discuss the team for about 10 minutes of the podcast:
http://www.espn.com/espnradio/play?id=20825877

Highlights:
-Arnovitz thinks Exum is one of the few ways the Jazz massively exceed expectation. Is this the year Dante arrives? He's gutsy, when there is pressure his instinct is to attack. Lowe doesn't know how much he will be allowed to playmake but he's going to defend. Lowe thinks the shooting is not what frustrates Quin with Dante - it's the lack of feel and wayward passes on drives, etc.
-We know they are going to defend - top 3-5 defense.
-The question - how are they going to get buckets. If Hood is your best scorer - how good can your offense be?
-Lowe - came out of the deep dive on Utah more optimistic. They are going to be well-coached, well-prepared and they are deep. 12-13 NBA rotation level players. You can grind your way to 45 wins in the regular season like this.
-Curious to see if they run with Rubio. Seem to be trusting Quin with solutions.
-Favors-Gobert is interesting because it's been a tug of war if they can play long-term together.

using my allen iverson voice: "we talking about preseason. Preseason!"

wake me up when the regelar season starts which is 3 weeks away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Rodney is to be our big scorer he will need to improve on a certain aspect of his game dramatically, which is getting to the line.

It was basically non existent last season, but he is supposedly healthy right now so fingers crossed.

There are several possible scenarios where the jazz get a go to scorer. Gobert, Favors, Hood, Exum and Burks are all capable of taking a big step forward IMO. Question is "will they?". That doesn't even factor in the passing ability of Rubio or the potential for greatness from Mitchell.

The Jazz will exceed expectations and be a better team than predicted. It will be interesting to see where they go from here. Favors, Iso joe, Exum, Hood, Neto, Sefolosha, Jerebko and Udoh can all come off the books. That leaves the Jazz with Gobert, Ingles, Rubio, Mitchell, Burks and Bradley with a salary of 67.8 mill.

The salary cap this year is 102 mil and luxury tax line is 122 mill. So the Jazz will have at least 6 players on roster with up to 34.2 mil (salary cap) and potentially 54.2 mill (luxury tax).

Some very big decisions coming. Will be interesting to see how some of the Jazzmen perform this year.

I saw some mention of it that said it's not open to the public, just the military folk. It would be nice if they at least stream it for the rest of us.
