What's new

Jazz and the Northwest

Wow, Dallas goes from Championship to 7 seed to lottery? I don't think they are finished yet. Also Houston has like 10 forwards and no point guards--who can defend that? And GS has promised that they are going to the playoffs and there is no way that Bogut & Curry both get injured again this year.

No, never. They promised that last year. They are **** top to bottom, left to right, inside and out. Piss on them for eternity. They win adn I riot. Look for me on the podunk Utah news. I will be the shirtless pale white kid bruning tires in the street and screaming multilingual obscenities right before they taser me into unconsciousness.

Great post. Curse those ********!

Am I the only one that thinks Utah will be better than Denver?

I do. We're considerably better at the 4 and 5, and I think the Core Four will make big strides in their development. I also think having a reliable SF in Williams will help the balance/chemistry of this team a lot. I love what we're doing.

No. Jazz have better interior play and are getting better in the backcourt than they were last year. We beat them pretty handily twice last year.

OKC
Utah
Denver
Portland/Minny
Minny/Portland

I think at 4 of the 5 teams in the division will make the playoffs. The Wolves probably won't, but that could hinge on how much Roy is able to contribute and as we mentioned, how well Rubio recovers. Here's how I envision the standings at the end of the season

1. OKC
2. Denver
3. Portland
4. Utah
5. Minn

I think the Jazz and Blazers will be very close.

I really thiink a lot depends on Batum; if Minny lands him I think they will easily make it to the playoffs, if Portland matches I could see those 2 fighting it out for the 4 or 5 spot. I wouldn't be suprised to see Utah/Denver fighting it out for 2 or 3. Anyways I'm excited for ball to return

As am I, even though we're a good ways away from a new season. I was actually thinking about Denver and I think I still think they'll take second in the division. George Karl has a done a great job with them and if they can keep McGee and avoid the big injuries to Chandler and Gallinari, they'll be a well-rounded tough team. I think Ty Lawson will be a borderline All-Star candidate.

They need to at least be near .500 at the break so they can't tank their way into the 6th pick. Knowing our luck, GS will finish 7th, we'll all be projecting our next franchise PG at that spot...and then they'll move up to #3 in the lottery.

It's going to be a real dogfight (oops, I can't use that term any more post-Vick) for the last couple of playoff spots. And the middle ones may be separated by just a few wins. I can see Utah even finishing as high as 4th. I'm not overly impressed with Memphis or Denver, although the Nuggets will have Chandler for the entire season. Perhaps the Clippers should be considered favorites for the 4th spot.

I really think that the CLippers might be able to pull out 3rd, yeah lakers got better with Nash but I don't think that there Championship good (whats there average age between there starters 35), Spurs will be older, and the Thunder not only got better with the draft but Maynor is coming back. Man, I so excited about the West playoff possiblities, Dallas nope, Houston nope, Minny maybe, Portland maybe, the West does seem like a whole bunch of ? marks right now.

That is possible but remember that Houston and Phoenix are probably taking steps back. And Dallas is going to be much worse.

A quick look at Western Conference Playoff teams

1. OKC
2. Spurs
3. Lakers
4. Memphis
5. Clippers
6. Denver
7. Utah
8. Minnesota?

Portland?
Phoenix?

A first year coach in Portland is going to be a downgrade from McMillan. No Steve Nash in Phoenix.

Other than the Lakers and OKC, and to a lesser degree the Spurs because of age, I see no reason we can't be a top 4 seed. We can leapfrog Denver, Memphis and maybe even the Clips on that list.

I think you should look at the whole west

Nw division

Okc - clearly the best
Utah - 1 more move will push this team even higher (see Jefferson)
Denver - will make a good push but jazz are better
Portland - still has a few holes to fill will be decent
Minny - needs to get older but is a very solid team

Pacific division

Lakers - Nash bumps them a little. Window is closing
Clips - they are quickly closing in on the lakers
Phoenix - they will be competitive. Let's see what dragic can do.
Golden st - they could be better then Phoenix. If they stay healthy they will be a decent team.
Sacramento - getting better but not there yet. They could be better then Phoenix too.

Sw division

Spurs - over the hill maybe but they have a great system
Memphis - with Randolph back they will compete. Haven't gotten that much better.
Houston - will do better when the get a pg and then trade for jefferson (will happen) the will compete
Mavs - how far can nowitzki carry this team. He is getting old also
New orleans - watch out Nola is quickly becoming a decent team.

Lakers
Spurs
Clips
Memphis
Utah
