Jazz are less Butch today

Stifle Tower

Punch Bowl Re-Filler
Well, after being abused in the second half by Griffin and company, the Jazz are much less butch than they used to be.

JK...

No surprise as they had little chance of making the roster, but the Jazz have waived Brian Butch and Trey Gilder. So that leaves Jackson and Quinn with outside shots at making the team. And Roger Braille still holding onto his roster spot.

I don't see Jackson making the team and the only way Quinn will is if Watson still has a long ways to go before being ready to come back.

I think The Jazz are looking at the possibility of moving Watson or Tinsley and moving Quinn into the 3 string PG spot.

Generally, the savings would probably be negligible but if they're going to be pay a guy 3+ million to stay home, they're probably looking to save wherever else they can.

Would there be much interest in Watson or Tinsley?

Probably not much unless a PG on another team goes down with an injury.

Maybe part of a bigger deal though.

If Utah has 15 players on the roster (including Watson out with injury and Bell on leave), are they allowed to sign a player to a 10-day contract later in the season, when 10-Days are allowed?

No.

The league can allow teams to exceed the 15-player limit temporarily in exceptional circumstances, for example last season (or was it the season before? or both?) the Warriors had a lot of injuries and were allowed to sign extra players just so they could field a team. But our circumstances are not that exceptional.

If the Jazz like Quinn, they would have to buy Roger out. I don't think they want to, but if the right player came along, the would be dumb not to.

Keeping Roger for now is a convenient way for KOC and Lindsey to avoid taking calls from every agent and his dog asking the Jazz to sign their scrub to the roster.
