What's new

Jazz At Trailblazers - 8 PM Mountain Time, Root Sports

The most impressive part of this team, is we are playing with rookies, D-leaguers, and sophomores. We have been aggressive in every game and fighting to the end. You add even a SLIGHTLY better supporting cast to Hayward, favors, and Gobert and we are a completely different team. Can't wait for Burks to come back and Hood to be healthy. Sometimes it's hard to remember we have those guys..

That's the thing I love about him and Favors for that matter. It's not just rim protect; it's being a good defender, period. Damn, I would have loved seeing that!

Aldridge scored legitimately once that I remember on Gobert by pinning him with his shoulder then scooping underneath him. The one other time he got by Gobert, Favors blocked him from behind.

Trey did his job and did it well. The problem tonight is that we asked him to do Exum's as well, and he didn't have that in him this time.

I have no commentary on how Trey did tonight (I only watched the last 10 minutes).

I was simply pointing out that a +/- stat is not good evidence to support your claim that he played well.

It's crazy Hayward can be so good offensively when we start 2 players who can be guarded in wheelchairs on the perimeter.

I watched the whole game. He really did play well. My only knock would be that he had a bit of the hero mentality in the last few minutes. Other than those few possessions in the fourth he did a good job.

lol that's an abstract take on it. Isn't it more like the other way around ? Those two are dumb and dumber. Not sure which is which tho

Not really, it's pretty obvious. Everyone plays better defense when Gobert is in because the other team doesn't want to drive to the rim nearly as much. Makes it a lot easier to play pressure defense.

50% of all Burke hate needs to be given to Exum.

And Ingles. Not that I hate Ingles or Exum, but their lack of shooting confidence actually makes me appreciate a guy like Burke who isn't scared to shoot the ball. I get way more frustrated watching those guys pass up shots than Burke taking shots.

Trey played well as a scorer off the bench, which is what we are asking him to do now. He played good defense right up until Portland starting using tricks to rub Lillard off screens because Aldridge was ineffective. That would have been a opportune time to reintroduce our 6'6" pg stopper, but he sucked pretty hard tonight, so we went with an exhausted Trey.

Ingles is a bit of a scrub though. He's getting so many minutes because of injuries. And Exum is 19 and all of that. It's a lot easier to hate on Burke.

6 of the next 7 games are against West playoff-calibur teams. After that, 16 of 23 are against losing teams.
