All Dante could do in his 2 years of playing was try to catch slower players off guard to get to the rim, then avoid contact with an off-foot layups. i'm not trying to say he was bad, but he just didn't have any kind of offensive arsenal and he isnt nearly as confident as Donovan.
Mitchell has scoring moves he has already shown. He isn't avoiding contact at the rim (he just doesnt know how to draw whistles yet). He can score on all 3 levels. He is a threat to pull-up off the dribble. His repertoire is so much more skilled and diverse than Dante's which is why he has a longer leash. Quin knows this dude can get buckets.
slight exaggeration but mostly agree, particularly his first year. Mitchell has come into the league just so much more skilled. I think this year Dante would have had a lot more free reign, i think he would have gotten free throws at a rate that would have surprised a lot of people.
I think they're both going to be terrific contributors for the Jazz.
