What's new

Jazz @ Grizzlies 8pm ET / 6pm MT

I really like how Quin takes players out of the game if they make a mistake and will put them back in a couple of minutes later. It's not like you get benched for the entire game if you do something wrong but you also don't get to go without penalty. He holds everyone accountable for everything.

It seemed like he was planning to finish the game with Trey and got him back in with 2:55 to go in the 4th, but he turned it over in two consecutive possessions and he got Dante back in with 1:55 to go.

Yah, it's all about the system & match ups, no favouritism, no egotism, no vet special treatment.

Good observation. You also seeing him talking to that player after he takes them out...a teaching moment if you will. He did that with Millsap and Exum this game. We got an amazing player development coach.

There are a ton of positives from this game:
+win against yet another contender
+Gordon seemed out of sorts again, until he lit it up in the third and completely turned around his game. Great response from him!
+Favors was an animal and had several great plays down the stretch
+Rudy Gobert! 'nuff said!
+Dante Exum held Mike Conley to 11/4. Yet another great defensive performance from him. He even had a couple of blocks and a steal. Also was more aggressive in offense than we are used to seeing and he had a career high 7 assists. Oh and BTW... he was +27 for the game.
+Rodney Hood! Damn that shot is beautiful. Great to see him take responsibility down the stretch and hitting some big shots.
+Evans - really nice to see the effort from him in limited minutes. He's probably indeed the ideal end-of-bench player.

On the minus side:
-Coach Snyder has weak hands. Almost as weak as Rudy's! Need to work on that!

Haha... one can take that in so many ways....

I also like how vocal he is on the sidelines. You can hear him yelling, "Good defense" on certain possessions, or like "Good pass rudy". I think he just communicates really well with players.

The other day Hayward missed a shot and looked a bit frustrated, and I could hear him yell "Hey it's alright". Then in a more fiery voice "C'MON GET BACK ON DEFENSE!" Basically snapping him out of his frustration, and getting his head back in the game.

The way Hayward has been playing I am ok with a slump here and there. All players slump from time to time. I remember interviews with Hornacek when he was in a 1-12 or something 3 pt slump and a free throw slump and him talking about his wife reminding him of things like relaxing his grip and being consistent. Way more important to me than Hay always hitting 40%+ off his 3 pt shots is him fighting through it and finding a way to keep contributing regardless. And just keep shooting. The shot will come back.

Gobeast is just awesome to watch. Gobmonster will have more and more beastial monstrous games. Can't wait!!

He's the anti-corbin.

The thing I like most about this is that he takes this time to explain exactly why to the player and takes a moment to individually coach them during games.
