What's new

Jazz have renounced the rights to Greg Ostertag? WTF?

DAMN! Ostertag would have been a great 3rd big.
There must be a cap hold for players that haven't "officially" retired. LA Lakers used a retired player as a throw-in in the Pau Gasol trade.

Wow, doesn't that signal that the Jazz are going to sign someone? They need to renounce their bird-rights cap hold in order to spend on a FA. If they were not signing another player, they wouldn't neet to renounce his rights.
And it is not Mo Williams, they already have his bird rights.

Something is happening.

I would think they are signing someone. I would hope it is Neto and a veteran. I think it would be awesome to see Neto and Burke splitting time and fight it out.

But I also think it could hurt Burke's feelings but I honestly don't care. I am a homer of Burke but I think Neto looks awesome so if Burke gets offended and gets out played and crumbles than it would show he wasn't going to survive through the struggle. Would be a great mental test.

Lakers have rights to Karl Malone but it's not like he's getting $ - it's just a meaningless lil factoid

Who knows maybe Karl gets traded for Ostertag. Lakers need a center lol

Exactly. If it hurts competition, then he's a bitch. Regardless, if Neto is better than Burke...who cares? I just want us to get a franchise point guard, couldn't care less who it is!

John Lucas?

Jazz had to renounce all their cap holds so they could do the salary dump trade. Otherwise they'd still be over the salary cap. Ostertag was one of those holds.

Brevin Knight is another.
