Jazz Just Signed Trevor Booker According To Woj

For the record, I have no problem with Trevor Booker in a vacuum. Like most players, it's a question of context. I just don't fully understand the decision here given the context. Maybe it's as simple as that Snyder wanted him.

Not sure how you can call him an "almost scrub" he has pretty good numbers. He would be the lead backup on most NBA teams.

Perhaps this comparison has been discussed, but Ed Davis 2 years $2 M v. Trevor Booker 2 years $10M.

Booker, 6'8" PF age 26 - career average of 6 and 5, 2013-14 PER 15.02
Davis 6'10" PF age 25 - career average of 7 and 6, 2013-14 PER 15.99

They are basically the same player with Davis being bigger and one year younger, but the Jazz are paying Booker 5 times as much as the Lakers are paying Davis.

Yikes.

Can Stokes give us Veteran leadership though?

Who really cares about leadership from career back-up who hasn't improved much since his rookie year? We had "leadership" from RJ last year, who was an all star at some point, and that helped to the worst record in the West. And he took PT away from Burks. Would much rather have better talent in Stokes instead for the 10th of the price.

Once again as Cy has mentioned a lot of times, Blair and Davis wouldn't take that money to come play for Utah who is a year or two away from being a contender. We have to overpay players, that's just it unless we draft or trade for players like Favors who likes being here.

To me it seems like people on this board just love complaining about everything, we could have signed LeBron and people would have said it was too much money.

They have totally different playing styles.

Davis is also awful on the left and right block.

Pretty much only scores at the rim or the middle of the key, according to his shot charts from last year.

I also feel like the difference in salary is based on the fact that Davis has done little to improve over his career while Booker has carved out a nice path.
