What's new

Jazz @ Kings 3/22/12 8PM MT Game Thread

Hayward has a lot to prove. 10 points and 3 rebounds and playing about as consistently as CJ is not good enough for a top 10 pick. But we're winning right now so all that doesn't matter.

All you've proven is you can piggy back off someone else's post while taking it out of context.

Sooooo good for you dawg! Here's a cookie

Not good enough eh?

Look at the 9th overall picks of the last ten years, and give me a list of them that produced much better than Hayward in their second NBA season, statistically. Also, the only player taken after Hayward that one could dispute as a better player, is Paul George, who's shooting at a lower percentage, and barely our scoring him. So taking the 2nd best player available equates to a bust........how?

I like the people who act like the draft is going to save this franchise. Like, if we get the 14th pick this year then it's only a matter of time before we beat the HEAT!

To complain about this win is "special needs". I actually think we looked really good last night except for the 4th quarter. This is the NBA, teams can get in funks, and other teams can get hot. Heck, the Wizards beat the Thunder early this year, does that mean that OKC should have immediately gone into tank mode to get a coveted #12 pick so that next year they could make their championship run?

I'm of the opinion that we're going to end up with GSW's pick (teams below them are awful and will be tanking just as hard as GSW), so I'm all for a playoff push. Look at Chicago a few years ago, they snuck into the playoffs with a .500 record (7th seed) and lost in the first round to Boston, but they pushed them to 7 games and gained a ton of confidence. And two years ago you had OKC get in as an 8th seed and battled LAL hard for 6 games. Young teams making it into the playoffs can really do wonders (another example was when John & Karl pushed LAL to 7 games in '88).

That is already taken care of. We have Millsap.

Jazz are 30-20 all time against the Heat.

Good points. Utah is still pretty sputtery but they are getting a lot better. I thought it was special they were able to pull out a tough W while Sap had a bad series of plays. The Jazz don't just do it one way. Hayward has been phenomenal in clutch time too. He might be ready for the postseason.

I agree, but I would still like to see Corbin use situation substitutions, like putting in Favors for Jefferson with 14 seconds left because you need a stop and a rebound. Other than that, take the W and get out of Cow Town.

The key we got a W I think is because Alec Burks was on the court in the last minutes.

Don't get me wrong - I just think he is the man who really can win a championship in this ball game.

And this kind of type of players bring special impact in crunch time.

We have good players, but this kid is special.

I haven't been tracking Hayward's FT%, but is it just me, or does it seem like he's money lately? I always thought he could be a 85%+ FT shooter, and while he struggled with confidence early, it looks like he's figuring things out.

The win is a win is a win crowd and the "he made the game winning shot" ain't gonna like it, but I noticed again that while Big Al prospers, the team suffers. BA had a great start on offense, he scored 10 points early on and yet the Jazz were at best tied. It was only when Favors came in for Sap with improved D that we moved ahead.

Bad D loses games and BA and Sap together are bad D.

I would have liked to see Corbin put Kanter or Favors up against D. Cousins more in the game. We should have beat the kings by at least 5 points
