Jazz @ Mavericks Game Thread 6:30 MT 2/9/17

Hope this game is a Quin Snyder "Wake up!!!" moment. Can't imagine Pops would take a game like this lying down in San Antonio.

Last year, there were games that Utah had complete control of, and the next thing you know Quin would piss away the lead with some WTF lineup, like having Hayward and Hood on the bench at the same time. It was so bad, I was convinced Utah was still somewhat tanking, or at least wasn't prioritizing winning over team development, such as putting them in a position to fight in a close game.

Welp, so much for that. I like Quin, but I have to seriously question his player management at times. He's going to be here for a while, so I guess all we can do is hope he gets a better feel for how he's using players.

What a terrible loss. Some absolute dumbass play at the end by the Jazz. Just really unintelligent play.

This team reverted back to two years ago, everything that could go wrong did. Embarrassing loss. Hey AB, pass the god damn ha when three ****ers are guarding u!!! Holy ****!! Why in the hell is both Favors and Dias in at the same ****ing time. That's what Dallas wanted. They ****ing ran the same ****ing play every ****ing god damn time, and ****ing blew us up every time!! Yes Gobert made a really stupid **** bead mistake and bone headed foul, but it was ****ing Quin who threw Gobert under the bus continually leaving Gobert to guard smaller quicker guys on the perimeter. Do something u idiot coach!!! My god!!

Some of these are definitely making it the Mavs' "Quotes from the Utah Jazz forums" thread.

How bout that Exum 4 point swing to start the 4th where he didnt box out on a FT then turned to the ref to complain while dribbling and got ripped for a layup.

Yeah. That was bad. Dumb rookie mistake. Can't let the game get to you like that. Gotta be in control all the time. That was when I started to worry that it would go sideways on them. Seemed like the whole team was in their heels at that point.

Sure, but that accounts for 4 points in an overall 28 point swing to a team 11 games below .500.

Mentally, when the Jazz are the aggressors, they're ****ing amazing. When the mindset shifts from "Let's ball out and kill these guys" to "Let's hold onto the lead and not blow it", then they immediately become terrible and start making stupid mistakes.

If at the point the Jazz were up by 21 it would've been possible to brainwash the whole team into believe they were actually DOWN 21, they probably would've ended up winning by 40.

It was a giant momentum swing that got their crowd into the game. That and Hayward just letting Matthews take wide open shots are the two biggest things that really propelled the Mavs to go on their run.

Ouch, that felt a little bit like the Falcons meltdown a couple days ago. Gotta give them credit though, that team doesn't lie down for anybody, and we just looked gassed by the time we got to OT. Kinda scary how valuable Hill is to this team as well.

Turning point was when Gobert fouled out.
