Jazz Offseason Plan

If you trading Favors and 30 to Charlotte you are asking for future 2nd's, not those garbage picks.

*Just looked, Charlotte has traded their 2nd round pick for the next 4 drafts*
I would take McDaniels and those two picks for Favs and 30... not sure you do much better in a salary dump move.

Correct me if I'm wrong: The Jazz have to make the pick before they trade it, correct? They can't trade the pick prior to the draft. I wonder if someone like Jaden Springer falls to 30 if it significantly raises the trade value of the pick

They can agree to trade it at any time... they have to execute the pick and then move it after... but they can agree at any time in between now and the draft with no issues... they would know they are drafting for another team and the guy has to put a jazz hat on.

Yes. It would dumb for us to trade Favors and #30 before knowing who is there at #30.

Why would Charlotte trade McDaniels though?
He's not like amazing... they have Bridges and Washington that are rangey forwards that need time and the Martin twins are solid for them. They do it because we need more than just a pick we can buy for $500k-1M and Favs is a good rotation piece for them.

Don't get me wrong, I like McDaniels as a rotation piece. But Charlotte does too. He played 19 minutes a game for them last year and started 18.

Favs picks up those minutes and they might like whoever they can get at #30 more than him. He only started because Hayward was out and both Bridges and Washington missed time at spots in the season. It was mostly at the end of the season when they were not headed anywhere.

He'd take up the Niang minutes and give a different look. I would not do Favs and 30 for 56/57... I'd figure something else out.

Lakers trying to trade #22 for Shamet and #27?

Could we just use our exception and #30 to get Shamet? I know we are broke and all, but makes sense right?

TIL there’s a 2nd McDaniels in the league and he’s actually the brother of the one we should have drafted last year.

Yes... and he had some of the same red flags that pushed his brother back in the draft and was surprisingly effective in his rookie year... Things our front office could have noted.
