Jazz Offseason Plan

Hard to believe that we need more wings and yet we are putting all our wings on the market.

Uhh you have realized that the conversation has been all about getting different kinds of wings (athletic/defense) so it makes sense you have to move one of the current ones to make room for that hypothetical player to get actual minutes.

If I'm Ingles and I'm reading this I'd be pretty pissed off. If the "deals" fall through do we suddenly have a cancer on the team because of an idiot front office?
Any team who wants to trade a pick for Ingles is going to be a contender, so Ingles will be fine.

“The Utah Jazz are known to be one of the few teams actually searching to move playoff-tested talent. Retaining Mike Conley is an offseason priority, sources said, and the Jazz have held numerous discussions with teams around the league about offloading salary to create room for Conley in free agency.

League personnel most often mention Joe Ingles as the Jazz wing to watch, and Bojan Bogdanovic and Royce O'Neale are also considered available for trade as Utah narrows its focus towards building a contender around Donovan Mitchell. The Jazz are also open to discuss trading their No. 30 pick, sources said.”

Here’s exactly what the BR article said, for the lazy ones.

I remember Rubio saying that it was really hard on him to be in trade rumors at the trade deadline of the 18-19 season after he thought he'd found a home here in Utah. At that time Rubio had only been here a year and a half...Joe's played here his entire career, 7 years.

What I'm reading is that they are trying to get off their contracts first and foremost.

Hmm no mention of Favors. Maybe it's just this board that wants to dump him and not the FO or team.

If anyone wants to wade through the business jargon (@Handlogten's Heros ?) here's a new piece in the Harvard Business Review by Ryan Smith on "reinventing an already successful business." Maybe someone can glean some clues in regard to the Jazz.

That first paragraph gives some good insight into Smiths thought process:

“One of the hardest disciplines in business and in life is tearing down what you’ve built to build something better—and knowing when to do it, especially if everything is going well. At Qualtrics, the company my father, brother, a friend, and I founded in 2002, we’ve reinvented our business multiple times.”

Tony has said this core has one last shot at this, and I’m guessing he’s right on that.

If we are looking to dump Bojan, Joe, or Royce to save money in order to bring back Mike, how can we be running it back for just a year?
