Jazz Open Practice 2015.

Snyder talked about how he wants his team to defend while in imbalanced fastbreak situations — by fouling. He wants his team to foul up top before the offense gets into a shooting area. That will give time for the rest of the team to come back to the ball on the inbounds pass. This, by the way, is exceptionally boring, and I wish the NBA would prohibit intentional fouls in order to prevent these fastbreaks from being so easily foiled.

FIBA fast-break defense, here we come!

It seems like they hyped this event a lot more in the past. This year I didn't even know it was happening until after it was over, and based upon the attendance (2,100), I don't think I was alone in that category.

I could swear I read something about a month ago that said they weren't going to have an open practice this year because of travel schedule complications or something.

- Jazz did 5 - 0 drills
- 3 on 2 passing v. D drills
- water intake during practice is monitored. Thing are very detailed and controlled
- fouling at the top of the key on fast breaks to allow other players to get back in time
- over course of the season "at least" 50-100 plays will be on the book, they've only implanted a few
- yelling "ice" when on O and shot clock hits 7 seconds to allow one last play to get a shot
- some competitive shooting drills
- some players may sit out Sunday's game, Snyder wants people rested for game 1 on the 28th
- only 2,100 people came.

There was an article where they talked about looking into it because of the weird schedule. This was thrown together last minute and not nearly as hyped as a result. A lot of people already had plans probably.

Injuries to Hayward and Favors already? Beat up in preseason?

Sent from the JazzFanz app

Hayward is lower back soreness from a flagrant 2 foul he got on Monday. They say he is fine jsut sore and resting. Same with Favors. But yeah it does give me a little pause.
