Jazz @ Pelicans Game Thread

So hard that Oakley got into a pushing/shoving match with Dolan and was arrested. Just keeps getting better and better with that franchise!

Todays Knicks, find the only bloke in the building with a bit of fight in him and get the cops to throw him out. That's why they suck.

One complaint I have about Quin, though it's not many, is why he doesn't play the scrubs way earlier. The Jazz were up 30+ points with 6 minutes left, on the first game of a back to back. Does he really think that a Withey/Lyles/Mack/Neto/Whoever lineup would lose them the game at that point?

Hayward, Favors, Ingles and Hill all played 25 minutes or less - that's not bad.

Rudy played 30, but I don't worry about minutes with Gobert. The one thing that flies under the radar with his game is his endurance - the guy has a "Rodman-like" motor. He never looks gassed.

DL wanted to build assets for the future and Ty was not the right guy for DL's vision.

DL inherited a Core4 of Favors, Hayward, Burks and Kanter.

Negatives -
* He let Millsap and Carroll walk for nothing and bombed on the Trey Burke pick.
* Missed out on some draft and stash projects by trading 2nd round picks for cash instead of going BPA (just imagine Jokic and Whitehead on this bench.)
* Helped the Warriors get strong with his cap bail out - but did get assets out of that deal.

Positives -
* He absolutely nailed the Gobert and Hood picks, while extending Hayward, Favors and Burks.
* Let Ty Corbin walk and replaced him with Quin Snyder.
* Traded Kanter and Burke before either became a distraction.
* Let Jefferson and Jefferson both move on.
* Picked up Jingles, Booker, JJ and Withey for peanuts in free agency.
* Has traded peanuts for contributors in Hill, Mack and Diaw.

Jury is still out on Exum, Lyles, Bolomboy and Neto. . . but they've all shown promise. Plus the Jazz still have a number of assets at their disposal as well.

This is a well built team.

I don't even fully blame him for this. He still had heavy involvement from KOC and Corbin at that time. DL fully took the reigns the following year.
