Jazz PF's eanked 4th likeliest to be moved

4. Al Jefferson or Paul Millsap, F/C, Jazz
As usual, the Jazz aren't tipping their hand. Therefore, take the rumors about Jefferson and Millsap with a grain of salt. Perhaps neither will be moved.

But with the Jazz looking to give Enes Kanter more time in the paint, something is going to give sooner or later. The Jazz can't afford to re-sign both Jefferson and Millsap, so the most likely scenario has them moving one before the deadline.

YAAAAAWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNNNN
Guess the goal is to get Kanter minutes now.

Also from Broussard or whatever his name is.

While most believe the Jazz will trade Paul Millsap instead of Jefferson, one person close to the situation told me he's under the impression that Utah will keep Millsap. The Jazz want to start featuring Derrick Favors for the future, it's hard to envision them re-signing both Jefferson and Millsap, though, so many expect Utah to make some sort of trade. Portland, which could end up moving J.J. Hickson, is one team that likes Millsap.

I have it from a very reliable source that it's not a lock that either of them is moved before the trade deadline, but there's also no guarantee that only one of them is moved. And it's very conceivable that both could wind up in a different uniform by next season.

Beanclown would be proud... LOL..

Jazz are looking to get Kanter more time in the paint? That's funny, I could have sworn they were looking to get Al more time in the paint. We could trade one of Favors or Kanter, or both, to fix the logjam and balance out our roster.

Ohhhh lookey lookey! More from some other ESPN hack.

Utah Jazz

Players to watch: Anyone over 6-foot-8 (Al Jefferson, Paul Millsap, Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter)

The Jazz organization does not lack for guts. Look no further than the 2011 deadline that saw them deal their franchise player, Deron Williams, at the height of his career so they could avoid him walking for nothing at the end of the season.

We may have a similar situation, albeit on a smaller scale, with the 2012-13 Jazz led by freshly hired GM Dennis Lindsey. It's hard not to see that the 29-24 Jazz find themselves at a crossroads. Jefferson and Millsap will be free agents after the season. Favors and Kanter are much younger and already better in some ways than Jefferson and Millsap. Are they satisfied with the status quo of being good but not great? Or are they ready to give the keys to the budding youngsters?

Lindsey's answers to those questions in the coming week could decide the long-term direction of the Jazz franchise. Kanter and Favors deserve to play big minutes. Question is, will it happen in Utah?

Ohhh da mystery? Ques sinister music

Okay - my conference call is rescheduled.... I'm going to break this down.

AL JEFFERSON

1) Move to Charlotte for 1st-rd pick + Ben Gordon, and send Ben Gordon to Brooklyn for Kris Humphries.

2) Move to Atlanta for Josh Smith, and send Josh Smith to the Clippers for Bledsoe + Butler + Billups; waive Billups

3) Move to Boston for Paul Pierce, and send Pierce to the Clippers for Bledsoe + Butler + Billups; send Billups to Boston

4) Move to San Antonio for Tiago Splitter, Stephen Jackson and Patty Mills + a future pick

5) Move to Houston for Terrence Jones, Marcus Morris, and ???

6) Move to Philadelphia for Evan Turner, 1st rd pick, and some expiring deal--basically Philly does this as an insurance policy against losing Bynum.

This dolt obviously knows nothing of the great value of the Jazz "history" of underplaying talented but youthful players. History uber talent!

In some of these scenarios, extend-and-trade are the only way to get value (i.e. Philly), and in #4 and #6, picks will certainly not be included (Splitter is one of the best returns we could realistically hope for Al by himself, Sixers aren't sending Turner AND a pick).

But these aren't bad.
