Jazz Playoff Chances

I'm going to wait to see how we make it through the rest of March before I start predicting things about the playoffs. If we can win 5 of the next 9, then I think we have a reasonable chance. BTW, that's gonna be hard as ****.

Back to the topic on hand. Minnesota is getting killed tonight by the Kings. That would be a HUGE blow to their playoff hopes to get beat by a bottom feeder.

They seemed to have taken the loss of Rubio pretty hard. If Minny can get below GSW, they'll be doing us a double favor.

We keep GSW pick & make the playoffs. Sweet!

now the rubio is out for rest of the year, rubio honey-moon season is over. From next year,u will see classical rubio"i play good for one year, than suck rest of it" act..take my word,he allways been this way,,feel sorry for Minny

Ok, I was thinking about the Jazz playoff chances as of late, and how realistic they actually are. Currently their are 4 teams I would highlight as having chances at the 7 & 8 seed.

Those teams are:
Utah (22-22)
Phoenix (22-22)
Denver (25-20)
Houston (24-21)

Utah's remaining schedule has 22 games left, with 10 on the road and 12 at home. 12 of those games are against teams with a record of .500 or better. Additionally 6 of those games are the tail-end of a back-to-back (including the upcoming games against the Lakers).

Phoenix's remaining schedule has 22 games left, with 13 on the road and 9 at home. 15 of those games are against teams with a record of .500 or better. Additionally 6 of those games are the tail-end of a back-to-back.

Denver's remaining schedule has 21 games left, with 13 on the road and 8 at home. Only 9 of those games are against teams with a record of .500 or better. Additionally 4 of those games are the tail-end of a back-to-back.

Houston's remaining schedule has 21 games left, with 11 at home and 10 on the road. Only 11 of those games are against teams with a record of .500 or better. Additionally 7 of those games are the tail-end of a back-to-back.

Utah has 2 games left against Phoenix, both at home. 1 game against the Rockets, at Houston. 1 game against Denver, at home.

Nice summary of the situation.

The sad thing is, the possibility of us being in the playoff race with a better record while developing our youngsters as well, if we had been playing with the youngs from the begining.

Still I am all for boosting for the playoffs to the end, but now our chances are not that great.

Rockets loss tonight to Phoenix, bringing the Suns and Jazz within a half a game of the 8th seed.

I think that the Jazz make the playoffs this year. If we win Tuesday against OKC, we probably move into the #8 spot because the Rockets (who are slumping right now) host the Lakers while the Suns play in Miami (both games on Tuesday). Here is a serious question: will the Jazz lose another game at home? If we beat OKC on Tuesday, I think we just might win out at ESA. The Jazz are becoming nearly unbeatable at the house that Larry built again. Coming off this absolutely gigantic win in LA coupled with the opponent being the best-in-the-conference OKC Thunder, the crowd should be absolutely crazy!

We still have vs. Denver, Dallas, Orlando, and San Antonio at home. I'm sure we will lose at least one of those.
