Jazz Press Conference: Major Facility Changes

There's actually a lot more to this story. Part of it is that Karl is not only joining the restored church but is also joining the Jazz to restore the franchise.

Reports are that the finished product will hoist a 6'9" Malone statue, entitled Maloni, who, rather than sounding forth a trumpet and holding gold plates, is shouting through a bullhorn and clutching an NBA championship trophy.

More to come.

I think Infection might be on to something here.

Kudos to them if they're doing so. Better than asking the public to spend money on a new stadium. Actually, I don't think they even used public funds to finance it (I have no idea about other details like getting the land for free or at a discount or tax incentives). That legitimately impresses me as well.

There's nothing wrong with the ESA- the fans love it, it's still considered one of the loudest arenas in the NBA when packed, and so I love the moves to try and expand it's life capacity. Whatever the new scoreboard is, I'm sure it will be a major upgrade.

Yeah, Miller's paid for ESA themselves. That being said, they need to upgrade, and are trying to without building a new building. The problem is, where do you move the ESA, or where do the Jazz play for 1 year while you tear down/rebuild the ESA?

Also, in the next 20 years, you and I will be paying for a new stadium for the Jazz. They were awesome to build on themselves, but they won't do it again.
