What's new

Jazz purchase Idaho Stampede

Maybe move it to St. George? but then it would still be about the same distance away...

I'm excited that they will probably rename it and get new uniforms!

The D-League is going to suck dick until they starting giving 6 figure salaries. No one wants to make 25K a year when they could be making 6 or 7 figures overseas.
And that is for the DLeague "stars." The salary cap means most players are playing for about $18K. Should we talk about slavery in this thread? JK. But yes, the NBA has talked about the need to a) make the DLEague a true minor league system and b) bring up salaries. Will be interesting to see if any of this, including the age limit, is brought up during the next round of labor negotiations.

So why did they get rid of the last D-League team that they owned?

They didn't own it, IINM. Most DLeague teams have local ownership. The NBA affiliate is in charge of players and business operations; the owner is in charge of marketing. Good decision by Idaho owner to cash out before the team folded. Can't imagine he was making much money.

Correct. Brandt Andersen, son of LDS Apostle Neil L. Andersen owned the Utah Flash. He will live in infamy forever for the Michael Jordan hoax.

D-League already failed in Provo once. If it is making money (or at least surviving) in Boise, I would think it would stay there.

Just a short plane ride. I just don't see them moving it to a place where it would be likely to not survive.
