Jazz select Cody Williams at pick 10

For some reason I thought WIlliams was like 195lbs skinny... I just looked at his combine measurement - 178 lbs!! Da ***? How was Rob Dillingham's weight the conversation and not Cody Williams'?
I had a whole argument with Tony Jones about me not trusting him due to his weight

nah, collier is ahead of williams right now. his body is nba ready and he's so much more aggressive. he'll force his way into the rotation, where williams will be more passive and willing to watch. williams has more long term upside, but collier is ahead at this point.

Collier stepped on campus at usc with veteran teammates and immediately became the alpha. the leading scorer right off the bat (he and boogie ellis finished the season both at 16 ppg) and the primary ball handler and playmaker. williams was more willing to sit back and let other guys do the heavy lifting. that's okay, it's just the difference between an alpha, a guy who expects himself to lead and be the best and somebody who has to grow into that.

no need to agree with me or trust me - we will see this bear out in a couple weeks. williams is going to love playing with collier though - gonna see a lot of great looks.

This post makes me think of this t-shirt

Being Norwegian makes it pretty hard to watch enough basketball to form my own opinion on most players. I watch maybe 20 Jazz-games a season on League Pass, and absolutely no NCAA or European ball. I do listen pretty religiously to the Dunc`d on podcasts as those guys appeal to my nerdyness. They did not like Cody as a prospect at all so if you could indulge me and tell me why this is a pick I should get excited for, I would be an even happier man than I am right now.

Cody has a fairly complete game. He shot a good percentage at all three levels of offense. He has the ability to make good reads as a secondary creator or cutter. At times his length made him an okay defender.

Mostly he lacks strength. Many analysts only watched the end of the season when he was recovering from injuries. For whatever reason he was fairly passive in these games compared to earlier in the season.

The assumption is as he adds strength his aggressive on the court will increase. Personally I think he was reading his role at Colorado correctly and that led to his high shooting %.
