Jazz sign Filipowski

So ideally we should sign him after we’re capped out, not right now.

If you don't have to use exceptions, you don't use them. Jazz is tanking now they don't need to waste any exceptions for contracts this small. I don't really understand fully how these 2nd round exceptions work, but I would imagine it's better to keep the maximum amount of exceptions open for the future.

If needed, you can always move easily players earning three millions a year.

He married? Engaged? Just shopping with his gf?
Thought the engagement was announced some months ago. If I'm recalling correctly the intended date was sometime in late summer, but I haven't heard anything to know what the current situation is.

Please explain why this is easy. What sort of transaction moves a back if bench player into someone’s cap room? What is the cost? Examples please.

OK,let's say it is not extremely easy but it's also not too hard if Jazz will decide he's not part of their long term future. In 2-3 years Jazz is for sure in buyers mode. In that point they are looking to trade for good players from teams entering rebuild/retool. If Jazz sends back picks and player that's 1-2 years making three millions a year, it's not going to kill any reasonable deal. Teams Jazz will be trading with are after their picks and one Kyle in the deal ain't buzzkill.

Additional note: the time Jazz knows will they keep Kyle or not, his contract will be most probably max 2% from the cap room, possibly less. I don't get why this is any kind of a deal at all. You move that kind of contracts (especially if they are healthy young players) in the league all the time, as part of trade packages.
