I wouldn't call him a scorer. He only got to the FT line twice a game in a ****ty conference. He is a prolific shooter.

I guess you would call klay Thompson and jj reddick shooters, not scorers? If the ball goes in the basket, seems the person who scores would be the scorer......

Typically a scorer is referring to somebody who can score in a multitude of ways. So yes, Klay Thompson is a shooter. Kyle Korver is a shooter. Pretty simple concept.

Typically a scorer is referring to somebody who can score in a multitude of ways. So yes, Klay Thompson is a shooter. Kyle Korver is a shooter. Pretty simple concept.

So would you say that Kareem is not a scorer because he did not score from 3 and did not run the floor. (Do a google search for "top scorer nba history" for me, will you?). Mostly a bunch of sky hooks. Dwight Howard, shaq, not scorers.....can't hit a free throw to save their life.

Final point is that Ian seemed to have some nice moves to the basket.....so I'd say the jury is out.

My first thought on Clark is this:

Rush, Hayward, Clark.........................Burks.

We have 4 SG's on this team. Three are similar in style (defense, shooting) and one is different (slasher). I think we are starting to see what Lindsey wants out of his wings and who he is talking about when he says he doesn't like the term "core 4" because one might not be here too much longer.

I agree with your definition of a multi-dimensional scorer like Kobe, etc. (probably only a few in the league, since most players have a few "go to" moves where they score 80% of their points).

I disagree that the term "scorer" -- when used by players/ coaches/ media/ fans -- always connotes a player who is a "multi-diminsional scorer" -- it usually means the people who score the most points by whatever means. For example, from google search: "Al Jefferson is an efficient scorer...." "Al Jefferson has been a consistent scorer" And we know how often Big Al scored from the line or on 3s. He is clearly not multidimensional. And clearly there are some who call him a "scorer"
