Jazz Sign MaCio Teague - Another Baylor Player

Teague is 24. Maybe that's why he did not get picked
He may be a ready to play type of player

He is old, right hand dominant and often missed the right play on offense. He has become a much better defender since he left Asheville and joined Baylor. Still, an undersized tweener. We need bigger backcourt players to compensate for Conley, Mitchell and Butler. Still worth giving a look. I always thought he brought the ball low to line up the seams. He needs to break that habit.

He is a much better prospect in my mind than Matt Thomas, who couldn't guard my 8 year old.

He looked great in those highlights but how many 6'2" guards do we need. His shot is funky but who cares if it goes in.

Undersized? He has a longer wingspan than Royce O’Neale by two inches.

Yep, undersized as a SG. Had trouble guarding larger defenders and finishing because he is undersized, and it showed sometimes at Baylor. Royce is also 40 lbs heavier, which Teague can work on.

Mitchell makes up for being undersized with his great athleticism and how high he jumps when he shoots. Mitchell has a large wingspan too, but he isn't a great defender.

You can get by with players this size, but we already have them with Conley, Mitchell and now Butler. And Royce is an undersized SF.

Again, not a bad pickup to see what he can do, and likely is an upside compared to Thomas.

Players have to come from somewhere....
His 3pt percentage has been great over a long period of time. He can throw a lob pass. Great wingspan. I can see a good backup SG/combo guard in his future. Can he be better than Matty Thomas?
