What's new

JAZZ@ Stun THUNDER - 6PM MT KJAZZ

Favors hurt his right arch (foot?)

Locke said of Al,"he needs to show some anger, this is his team, but he is just so nice."F

I agree with Locke on this, his faults are almost all symptoms of this lack of fire. Showing that the other day was tremendous, please bring that back Al.

Is Favors' injury bad? Anyone know? Without him, Al's going to get ridiculous minutes like he did today.

Espn game recap noted that Utah is the only opponent to play in OKC this year with less than a double digit deficit in the 2nd half. Wow. Sucks I missed almost all of the game.

WTF happened to Favors?

Recent news is;
Derrick Favors (foot) doubtful for Saturday
Nov 30 - 10:57 PM

Kanter with 18 points, 7 rebounds in 15 minutes? God, I can't wait till Favors and Kanter are getting 36 per (hopefully, next season).

In the flow of the game on 8/11 shooting! He had a nice pass out to Watson for a wide-open 3, which Watson missed. This guy's 20! I just want to see what both of them can do together when they're forced to play big minutes. I've thought for some time that Kanter has the potential to be the major offensive force on our team and Derrick the defensive. That's best-case-scenario (well almost best), but let's hope that happens!

Jazz going to get revenge on Houston (...for Houston thinking they can get revenge on us for the beating we gave them earlier this month). Kanter vs. Asik.

This is why we need patience with him. Same for Favors. Both of these guys were super raw projects when they arrived. Kanter's game tonight doesn't mean he deserves 30 mpg but it's great to see him do well. If we hit with him we can let Al walk. IMO Favs won't ever be a great offensive player, but Kanter has some promise.

I agree on Favors. I saw Favors shot percentages via Locke, and it was absolutely shocking how horrendous he is--and only average at the rim. He needs to go hard to the basket, play with energy, keep it simple, and keep improving his shot. If he's a game changer on D with quality offense 14-18 at his peak, then I can live with that, particularly if Kanter brings his offensive game to fruition.

Watched a Jazz doubleheader tonight. I urge people to put me on ignore, but I have to say it again: We have a horrific half court offense. It was terrible in the win against NO, and it was just as bad tonight.

My question is this: When does anybody in the media pick up on how bad we are on offense? All the talk is who should start, who's not playing, who played bad, who played good. Locke is the worst the way he assumes (or most likely doesn't understand) that the offense must be fine and it's the players who are struggling.

I find it astonishing how Ty is getting a free pass. The tape is clear. And he's terrible.

I completely agree with you on this. The strange thing though in this game when watson, burks, hayward, kanter and jefferson were out there at the start of the fourth it looked like they were actually running plays and not just dropping it in the post for Jefferson.

I think Ty gets a pass because Millsap and Al are up at the end of the year. Ty is next on the list. Once one of those two (or hopefully both) are gone, Ty will become our #1 enemy.

Playing against the best always shows you what you have.
Big Al and Sap crapped the bed tonight.

Sure they can put up big numbers against the crap teams at home. If they get owned by the best there is no reason to keep them as our focus.

Also telling that Kanter had a good game....

In fairness, no matter what Ty does we're going nowhere this year with Mo running the show. He's so horrible as a PG that it would be a miracle any coach could figure out a system to win with him. But his inability to set the offense, read defenses, or just make smart decisions will kill us all year.

I just think it's remarkable that Ty goes to Big Al on the post when Al's up against his weakness (IE: Tim Duncan, Kendrick Perkins, etc.). It was just really easy to see that Al struggled against Perkins today and always does.

So Enes Kanter scores 13 pts. in 8 minutes on 6 of 7 shooting, including three Dirk-like jumpers from 18 feet and inside scores against Collison and Ibaka, and then he gets pulled for Paul Millsap. I wish the Jazz would trade a big so Corbin doesn't have to try to think.

Corbin does think? Didn't know about that... :D
