Jazz to actively pursue Paul Millsap this offseason, per Spencer Checketts

They are actively pursuing Elijah. Not Paul. Paul makes no sense. He's not gonna want to come off the bench. Are they gonna try him at the 3 again? Meh. Stop it, Spence. You're so annoying.

I love this. He'll probably get a max deal, which is fine. He's got 3+ good years left, is productive, plays his *** off, can stretch the floor a bit now. If he's willing to come off the bench, awesome.

What part of any of his time in Utah have u the indication he'd be fine as a 6th man?

As much as I like Paul, I don't think it's a good idea. He'll just take minutes from the up and coming young players on the team.

I would take Millsap over Hayward as our 3 any day of the week. Package Hayward + pick 12 to Charlotte for Biyambo, Vonleh, and the 9th. Then we sign Millsap draft Stanley Johnson.

Exum, Burke, Cotton
Burks, Hood, Millsap
Millsap, Johnson, Ingles
Favors, Vonleh, Booker
Gobert, Biyambo, Vonleh

Done

I approve

They have Elijah signed.....

I think it is very important to consider that the Jazz under Lindsey have done a better job of controlling the message sent to the fans. If the jazz leaked this to a Jazz employee it is for a reason.

Shrewd PR is to feed info to the consumer (or populace if you are in politics) so that they reach the desired conclusion before you announce it. That way, they believe it was their idea. This is more important if the move you are about to make could be controversial.

The other thing to consider is that the Jazz could be doing Milsap a favor by generating talk about him in the marketplace in an attempt to drive up his price.

Checketts doesnt work for the Jazz.

I don't believe this rumor. Millsap is probably expecting a large contract since this is pretty much his last. Favors is a superior player who shows improvement every year. PF is not really a position of need, and Millsap is not really a stretch 4. We would have to give up Booker, and expect Favors to play back up 5, while Millsap and him share minutes at the 4. Unless they think they can land him for real cheap, and expect he'll settle for a diminished role (both very unlikely), I don't see why they'd pursue him.

"The rumor that the Jazz will pursue Paul Millsap this summer is so intriguing. I've never loved Derrick Favors' game the way many people do...
...A starting lineup with Rodney Hood and Paul Millsap sounds so much more fun offensively than Alec Burks and Derrick Favors"

lol go eat your big mac. more fun offensively? will that win a championship? smh

Meh, more than likely Checketts made up the rumor himself to draw in more followers and listeners.
