JAZZ V SPURS EASTER thread

I think it is a matter of focus and leadership. We were talented and skilled enough to be in the game. There were dozens of mental lapses. Jefferson not boxing out. Several players looking away from Ginobili for a sec off the ball and getting burned.

I am not sure if it is Corbin or our players but we aren't a team with high BBIQ.

Not that the officiating was the cause of the loss, but I'd be happy if I never saw that god awful officiating crew again in my life. They blew the whistle on everything, though seeing Ginobli being the victim of a flop by Tinsley was spectacular.

You guys must've seen a different game than I did. The Jazz never gave up and kept coming back right up to the end. They showed some toughness and the officiating was horrible. Millsap was constantly getting banged, sometimes two or three fouls before they made a call. The Spurs got away with murder. The Tinsley flop was a foul. Ginobili went right over the back which caused him to fall. If we got a few more stops on some of their penetration or some calls, we could've won this game. One thing that helped was when Earl and CJ got hurt. It gave more time to Tinsley and Carroll. Tinsley is so much better than Earl that I hope somehow we are able to get rid of Earl and have Tinsley as a backup in his place next year.

Yeah, DeMarre Carroll looks like our best outside shooter at the moment. He was 3/4 from deep. He could turn out to be the new Wes Matthews.

He would have to be able to put up some kind of resistance on the defensive end to be put in that class. The SA guards ran circles around him the entire 4th.

Game reminded me of the WCF. Spurs jump out to a big lead, they shoot a ton of free throws, there are some questionable calls in their favor. Jazz fight back and cut into the lead, but just can't muster a big enough comeback and the spurs end up winning by double digits. Hopefully tomorrow will be different

Demarre Carroll did his best Reggie Miller impersonation. Good for him. It was nice to see him not be a ghost, but I guess that's what a benching will do, followed by given an opportunity to start the second half.

Hey did we all forget???

Jeremy Evans played at the 3 tonight! Didn't really do anything other than that block, but at least Ty is trying different things out there.
We also saw one of the crappiest froncourt lineup the Jazz have with Tinsley and Watson.

I still think the lineup of 4 youngsters + Harris is the best lineup the Jazz have with Kanter being replaceable with Milsap.

Calls usually go the the aggressor.

The Spurs actually attack the rim... And they do so all the time.

Our "best" post big is lucky to get to the FT line twice a week. We are a jumpshooting team. No one other than maybe Harris or Hayward ever attacks the rim. Soooo...

I think instead of blaming the refs, we should blame the coach and players. The coach needs to demand his team take it to the rim more aggressively instead of casting off. Players need to nut up and take the ball to the rim aggressively.

But Al can't jump and Sap is 6'7". They are not capable of attacking the rim. Favors and Kanter on the other hand.....
