Jazz vs Clippers - October 30, 21:30 CET/14:30MDT

Top 4 seeds like you and many around here where hyping you have to win games against teams like these. If not your not a top 4 team and your looking at 7 and 8th spot or lottery and at that point you better wwith hoping for the lottery and getting lucky with the balls because this teams gets swept, maybe wins one first round playoff game. is it even worth it at that point id be asking myself to make the playoffs. As I have always said the Jazz need a go To All Star player. look at how lillard puts up wins for Portland. A Team full of role players simply doesn't get it done.

Couple of tweets by Ben Dowsett:

"The Jazz have generated 52 open or wide open3s, per SportVU data - 17.3 per game. They've hit just under 31% on those."

"For reference, the Jazz as a team shot over 38% on these shots last year. Then added 3 mid 30s 3-point shooters this offseason."

We are getting open looks, just not falling. Which seems to be a league wide problem right now per Ben Dowsett:

"Jazz % on open(32.1%), wide open 3s (29.2%) ranks 12th and 20th respectively. - would have ranked 29th and 30th respectively last yr."

Two killer teams, on the road, injured... Sucks to lose them both but I'm not panicked. Take some breaths

Forgive if I give Quin's offense a second look once Diaw isn't running into our guards mid-set and Mack isn't dribbling the clock out.

This is why the idiots that are pushing for everyone to shoot threes are crazy. This is a fad that will pass. Did you see Blake Griffin shooting those deep twos the league is playing copy cat to a team that has the players to play from outside. In all the years of basketball the GS warriors are an outlier they haven't figured out anything special they are just making there shots. Besides Joe Johnson and Joe Ingles our team is not making them consistently. As for Lyles his shot is looking good but he is turning into a one dimensional player. Boris and him should not be on the court at the same time it is like having two Kanters on the floor.

I am all for shooting more threes within an offense if you have the personnel to support it, but not at the expense at getting other high percentage shots. Quin's offense does a good job of getting good open 3's, I will say that, but it doesn't get a lot of other easy hoops. I miss watching an offense that makes all 5 defenders work hard on every possession.

Teams used to hate playing us because our sets were simple, but worked well, and made the defenders work hard. I don't see that anymore.

It's probably David Locke's fault. He's always preaching about how what really matters is how many 3's you take. Quin must have gotten really bored or desperate over the summer and listened to one of Locke's podcasts.

A lot of that was that the defensive rules were different. I'm not sure those same sets are anywhere near as effective without those Illegal defense rules. We needed Memo to make the Deron/Boozer group work, and it only worked to a degree. The S and M group played under different rules.

Wow, this part of the post and it's point in context was pretty bad. Very bad really.

it was really bad, to call it a fad anyway is insane. The Spurs don't go copy cat the Warriors, Neither have the Cavs. GSW can get away with it because they have 2 sweet shooting guards and you play to your strengths.
