What's new

jazz vs clippurs.....no game threads? this is it? WOW

so basically...anything over 7.5mil is too much for hayward.

For me it's about roles. If he wants to come off the bench to backup a real player like Wiggins or Burks, then fine. But we cannot win with a SF who shoots almost sub .400 FG and almost sub .300 3 pt. That's just not starting SF material right there. You can't win playing 4 on 5 on offense. Or did we not learn this lesson under the AK47 regime?

but hes the best PG in the league.

By shooting stats do you mean your generalized estimation at Gordon's season fg avg? No I didn't miss that. I just don't pay attention to gibberish.

Really? So basically you just want Hayward to be someone completely different then he is. Its good that he doesn't blow up at that kind of stuff. Its called being professional. This is not MMA, wild aggression only leads to foul trouble in this league.

Hayward had proven in the past that he can be a capable shooter. This year he was asked to be a star and came up short. That doesn't negate his positive qualities. He is still an elite passer, strong rebounder and solid defender. BTW shooting is the easiest and most commonly improved skill in basketball. BBall IQ is like being athletic, it can't be taught.

Just because calmer minds don't loath him for his learning curve does not mean he's being worshiped. You for some reason enjoy rooting against your team instead of for it.

As you your self have stated "this year is about learning what works and development." We have learned that Gordon buckles under the weight of being the #1 option and have seen him develop into good all around player.

15, 5, 5 is really hard to come by. Let's be careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Ignore Hayward's shooting stats? Yep, sounds about right for the Hayward Homers.

Gordon's shooting this year:
40.7 fg%, 31.3 3pt %, 81.8 ft
Career: (this years struggles included)
43.6 fg%, 37.2 3pt%, 81.3 ft%

I'm not ignoring Gordon's shooting numbers. You just never presented them. You make wild general assumption before you researched what your talking about.

Was that supposed to strengthen your argument??? Look at those numbers!

Yes it does. As I stated before Gordon has proven that he. Can score at a reliable rate. He did it for three straight seasons. This season is the outlier (you do know what a outlier is right?).

For some reason Gordon has struggled with his shot this year. I'm not arguing that Hayward is shooting well this year. I'm arguing that he shot well every other year in his career. I believe that with the correct adjustments he can return to his stronger shooting numbers.

When/if that happens then his elite passing and all around strong play will be a tremendous asset.

Define "good."

I don't think a good playoff team can win with him starting.

His shot is too inconsistent and he's just too soft.

Nearly sub .400 percent FG and nearly sub .300 percent 3 pt FG. The fact we ignore that most WC starting SFs are shooting 10-15 percent better than Hayward just goes to show the extent of the blind worshipping we have towards a pretty average/bad player. I took hell when I bashed Kirilenko. I fully expect to take hell for bashing yet another white player who just isn't very good.

Those who focus on his "court vision" are merely making excuses for his ****ty shooting and piss poor ability to drive and score. I don't think a team will be able to win consistently with him starting. Just like Gordon Kirilenko, he's best suited for a sucky team or coming off the bench for a few mins on a good team. He just doesn't shoot well enough

PGs create. SF's finish. Here in utah we seem to believe the opposite. Which is weird because isn't that what we got Trey to do?

We here in utah bash Melo and JR constantly as overrated losers who cannot win.

Yet both shoot a much higher percentage than Hayward. If Hayward were black, had tats, and cornrows, I'm guessing that we would be a lot less patient with him.we see this with burks. When he doesn't shoot well, he sucks. When Hayward doesn't shoot well, he has good court vision and/or he does things which don't show up in the box score.... Yep, uh-huh,right.
5th option on a playoff team?

would he make san antoon better?

Lol. I get an infection responding to Thriller's none sense, and incomes all the thriller hate, just doing what I can. I love how Thriller brings up all the weaknesses and faults but none of the good.

I'm pretty sure the hate from thriller started rolling in during the second half when the whole team struggled, but heaven forbid he mentions how great Hayward was at running the offense and not taking bad shots. Thriller has his own agenda, but whatever.
