What's new

Jazz vs Heat | Wednesday December 8th @ 7:00pm (The Rematch)

Unfortunate that we came up against a red hot and very focused team tonight. Let's also remember they have two of the top few players in the league and they basically did whatever they wanted with us tonight.

What the game highlights for me is that if just 1 or 2 of our second tier guys are having an off-night, we will struggle to beat the elite teams. While we might seem deep and skilled against a team like the Clippers, we just don't have the cattle to compete with some of the really stacked teams around the league.

So how many losses AT HOME against good teams is this now? Just pathetic. Once we start losing more on the road, which will happen, things will get ugly fast.

Before we throw the baby out with the bathwater... Another way to look at things is if DWill hits 2 threes and Big Z misses just 2 shots the game is very different game. Both of those "ifs" are reasonable. But what this says is that the difference between the teams is not that much - but is enough that Miami is better.

here are the oldest 7 teams in the league in order (weighted by player minutes as repored by www.hoopism.com)
Dallas
Lakers
Boston
Phoenix
Miami
San Antonio
Orlando

Jazz are 15th. Which of the teams listed are integrating two new starters (or more)? Miami and Utah - And Miami now has 2 of the 3 best players on the planet (and IMO the top three players in the NBA are a notch above the remaiing group 4-10) Utah has some growing together still. We (Jazz) are capable of some ebbs and flows but are also capable of chemistry improvement. We lost to a very good team.

While i agree with many of the postings about what could have been better, i still think the glass is more than half full at this point in the Jazz's situation. And it boils down to the point one poster in the thread said - This game exposed the weaknesses more than a clippers game.

Big Al definitely a little lazy getting back on Biz Z after helping on Bron or Wade on the screens. Got killed on the boards again. Hope AK regains his shooting touch and even the Fes haters got to acknowledge that he can help the team.

I have no clue why (other than their rookie titles) Hayward and Evans aren't getting ANY burn. I agree, they shouldn't be getting 40 minutes per game. But right now is the time to experiment with lineups. Right now is the time to see what Hayward and Evans can do. Right now is the time to play these guys so Millsap, Al, and AK don't have to play so many minutes.

I truly think that Evans could make a difference right now. The last 3 games we've lacked energy and emotion. A big dunk from him could ignite the second unit and give the crowd energy.

I don't get it I love our 2nd unit. I love the energy that Watson, Price, Miles, Elson and Fes had with eachother. They only seem to work well together. I don't know why Jerry hasn't been playing them together (except that Fes was injured last game). The last three games the team really could have used the energy that group of players me ignites.
Why mess with something that isn't broken? So un-Jerry like!

I've been wondering if Kirilenko has been playing injured or what. He looked stuck in the mud on several plays.

....frankly, Klinko just isn't that smart of a ball player. He can be fooled on defense, and stupid on offense. He plays more by instinct than with his head. His attention span is probably at the 3rd or 4th grade level. He's virtually uncoachable I suspect...and the sooner we get that 18 million dollar per year albatross contract off our backs the better this team will be. That being said....I hope he has a better game against the Magic....because we're gonna need him!
