Assuming Anthony Davis signs.

JAZZ V LAKERS
C- Gobert vs Gasol - Jazz
PF - Favors vs AD - Lakers
SF - Bogdanovic vs Lebron - Lakers
SG - Donovan vs Pope - Jazz
PG - Conley vs Schroder - Lakers

BENCH (only going to go 3 deep as it's usually an 8 man rotation in the playoffs)
Jordan Clarkson, Joe Ingles, Royce O'Neale vs Montrez Harrell, Wesley Matthews, Alex Caruso - advantage Jazz.
Should be one heck of a series if it happens.

JAZZ V CLIPPERS
C- Gobert vs Zubac- Jazz
PF - Favors vs Ibaka- Jazz
SF - Bogdanovic vs Kwahi - Clippers
SG - Donovan vs P. George - Jazz
PG - Conley vs Beverly - Jazz

BENCH (only going to go 3 deep as it's usually an 8 man rotation in the playoffs)
Jordan Clarkson, Joe Ingles, Royce O'Neale vs Marcus Morris, Lou Williams, ? - advantage Jazz

Again, should be a heck of a series. Crazy part is I'm looking forward to seeing these matchups even more than I was last season.

JaMychal Green signed with Denver.

We match up extremely well against anyone at the top of the west... assuming we can be okay at defending the perimeter (large assumption).

It may not even come down to this, as I remain hopeful that it wont be a LA team to knock us out of the first round.

If you would have put a similar comparison this last year, I bet everybody would have put the following for a Denver series:

Rudy vs Jokic - Jazz or Even
Bojan vs Millsap - Jazz
Joe vs - Grant - Even
Don vs Harris - Jazz
Conley vs Murray - Even

Reality:

Rudy vs Jokic - Nugs
Morgan vs Millsap - Nugs
Joe/Royce vs Grant - Nugs
Don vs Harris - Jazz
Conley vs Murray - Nugs

Main point being - if you look at LA, Rudy won't play Gasol too much. They'll make him guard AD. Which like Jokic, Rudy will lose the matchup. And then the difference of LeBron vs anybody on our perimeter, he wins that matchup so much that the Don advantage won't matter. Lastly, Shroeder will outplay Conley because all Shroeder will have to do is score the ball. The Lakers could probably matchup Conley with Caruso and it would be close to even.

Conley & Schroeder are Even. Conley just costs twice as much.
Favors & Ibaka are likely Even too.

Watch for Elijah Hughes to make an impact this year off the bench, imo.
Not in this matchup. The difference will be most apparent in the ease by which each guy gets past the perimeter defense. Dennis has shown he can eat us up. Conley hasn’t shown he can get to the rim consistently against anyone.

Rudy can stop AD, he did it in the past succesfully. It may go either way but it's close. And regarding matchup with Jokic I think that the bubble situation played in his favour. His shooting was inflated just like Murray's and Don's.

Gasol won't be a starter.
