I don’t know the stats, but Niang looks worse than last year to me. Looks unbearably slower only defense. Morgan looked pretty capable on defense. If he can’t hit a few 3s then Niang is completely expendable. I’m down giving the kids a look. IMO, we need to score more in the fast break. We can more easily do that with better defense and more athleticism.

I watched that highlight video (link posted earlier in the thread) and so many Detroit plays were someone blowing right by Niang. He's a complete liability defensively. Nothing he does on offense can sufficiently mitigate for the points he gives up...unless he's just trying to wear down the opposing players by having them repeatedly sprint by him.

Not sure what Jazz at this point can do to get a big 4/5, but definitely need one.

I agree. Not to be a gadfly but did we even waive the right player? So far we’re still on the hook for Green’s salary. Maybe somebody would have picked up Davis. At least I remember Green expressing some frustration, Davis just acts like he could care less.

I'm convinced Green had expressed his unhappiness. Also, Jazz are thin at the 5. Davis has to remain as insurance in case of Rudy or Bradley missing games. We really don't have anyone else (no big 4) who could step in and play the 5.
