Another interesting post on the Twolves message board. They really seem to like Lyles.

I would probably deal Lavine for Lyles.

I didn't think much of Lyles at Kentucky, but I've been impressed with him this season. It would also be fun to pair he and KAT as the front court of the future.
 
Data can be misleading.

Bigs peaking earlier could just mean that the average big man is able to contribute at an early age because they provide rebounding and hustle plays, but never develop further beyond that, so they "peak" early. You might read that as they developed faster, but it might just be they never actually developed and just used their raw size and athletic ability to contribute where a guard wouldn't be able to. Bigs dont always have to develop to be useful where guards are more reliant on skill development to have NBA careers.

Yes, generally bigs are closer to their peak at an earlier age because the position requires a higher % brute physicality and a lesser % skills and IQ only gained from experience, which take time to develop. That is precisely the point.

Similar can be said for NFL quarterbacks versus lineman.
