"The Jazz has waived guard Jerel McNeal. Following the move, Utah’s roster now stands at 13 players."

Looks like Machodo's chances just went up.

People on Twitter are speculating whether Mcneal or his agent were angered by Clark signing/Machado invite/signing, what say you? It seems weird to waive a player you kept all summer just a couple days before camp, especially when roster is back to 13.

Really doesn't make sense.

He was a un-guaranteed contract, and we had up to OCT 31 to waive him, but why not let him stay for camp?

Couple of options here.

1.He did something wrong and the Jazz no longer want him around the team.
2.The Jazz gave him a list of things to improve on over the summer for them to consider keeping him, and he did not complete them.
3. Jerel/His Agent requested to be released after learning that he will not have much of an opportunity here in Utah. (Doesn't make sense to me. Where would he have a better opportunity than here? PG is in limbo.)
4.The Jazz want to bring someone else in, and need a bit more cap space to sign them.
5.Jazz are about to make a trade and need the extra roster spot/lower salary to complete the trade.

I suspect this might have something to do with what was in the urine. He flunked a drug test while playing in Europe.

I used to enjoy it too, but then everyone said my breath smelled like pooh.

THink about this. The Jazz gave him a life preserver last season, gave him NBA money for awhile, took him to summer league and then waive him before camp. This computes as McNeal is the all time leading scorer at a school that has produced Wes Matthews and Dwayne Wade. And he did flunk a drug test while playing in Europe.

Why'd you quote me? I was just making a funny on LunaticWolf's comment. I am aware he peed weed and agree it could be a reason here as well.

KOC needs to do this for JF. He owes us for giving him the guidance necessary for the tank.

None of that. Team discovered that it McNeal throwing trash at the refs after the BYU-Utah game. Best part of the story is that he doesn't care about BYU or Utah, he was just still cheesed about those same refs screwing Wisconsin.

Jazz wouldn't have signed him in the first place if this was the case.

Yeah, so it obviously wasn't an issue then, so why would it suddenly be an issue now?

Because it is against league rules. He wasn't on our team when it first happened. If it happened again, that would be reason to not continue with him.

Not saying it even happened. I am just acknowledging that honeytennis' speculation could be true.

This is no surprise to me. I thought the signing of Clark was the pink slip for McNeal. He's really not a PG and he would be a 3rd combo guard. Just no reason to keep him with the other personnel on the roster.
