This game thread: somewhere between vanilla and vanilla bean.

The under/over for Ellis' points/shots is set at 30. I'm going with over for both. He's going to score 55 but the rest of the team will suck.

Definitely see Mr. Price getting a lot of minutes in this one. Need him to stick Monta who has had some big games with a high FG%.

I agree 100 percent.... more price, less raja tomorrow please. AK always seem to do well against golden state too. I see him having a big game.

Jazz's Williams, Sloan discuss matching up against small, speedy Warriors

Jazz guard Deron Williams and coach Jerry Sloan discuss the Golden State Warriors.

Williams on Warriors guards Stephen Curry and Monta Ellis:

I like Steph Curry a lot. I like his game. He's developed into a great point guard. You know he had the skills to be a point guard, you just didn't know how it was going to translate, because he was more of a 2 in college. He can pass the ball. He can score the ball, shoot the ball. He has a great IQ. Comes from a basketball family.

Monta can just flat out put the ball in the basket. He's one of the fastest guys in the NBA. Just relentless at attacking the basket.

Stacking up versus small teams that push the tempo:
It just depends on the night. Some nights we've struggled against them. Some nights we've had our way with them. We definitely have an advantage inside, we just have to be able to use it. But at the same time, we have to get back and stop their transition. When we do that, we're usually good against teams like this.

Sloan on matching up against the Warriors:

We've got to do what we have to do. They've got some guys that can score. They've got some guys that can rebound. A lot of different things to look at when you play them. But every team has something that makes it difficult for you. You just hope you can maintain your concentration and get done what you're trying to accomplish.

This weekend is either going to be totally awesome, or absolutely ****** with the Jazz tonight, Utes tomorrow and RSL tomorrow night.

This is one of those games where I'm gonna be pissed if Sloan matches down to Golden State's size. Putting CJ or Raja (or even AK for that matter) on Monta Ellis presents matchup problems in our favor, all game long. We should dominate the paint, dominate the boards and if Sloan has any sense at all he'll abuse his size at the 2-4 positions and end this game before it gets out of hand.

Monta Ellis will be a tough matchup - wouldn't be surprised to see alot of a DWill/Price backcourt to offset some of the speed the Warriors have.

Last year, all 3 games were relatively close through 20 minutes but Utah opened up a big lead in the late-2nd/early 3rd qtrs by pounding the ball inside to Boozer, Millsap and even Matthews. Unless we get sloppy with the ball I expect big games from Jefferson and Millsap - atleast 45 points and 25 rebounds combined. Interesting to see how they matchup with G.S.'s bigs in a up-tempo game. I mean, David Lee and Andris Biedrins aren't exactly the twin-towers but they're a heck of an upgrade over the Anthony Tolliver/Ronny Turiaf combo they had last year.
