Jazz Worst in League for Turnovers?

The Jazz have the 2nd slowest pace in the league and we are ranked 21st in the league for having the most TOs. Given our PACE that we have so few possessions and we are so high in turnovers, our TOs per possession would be higher than any other team in the league?

I don't seem to be able to find the data to calculate TO% based on possessions.

I had to change the channel last night it was so frustrating. We had our first TO about 5 seconds into the game and it didn't stop. And a lot of the TOs were unforced errors. Just poor passing. Diaw can make those spectacular passes but !@$%!@$ last night he made some poor ones. Mack was killing me last night.

Hayward in the DAL game with his 7 TOs just was a nightmare.

Maybe we need to have more emphasis on ball handling drills.

TOs will come down some as Hill returns and Dante no longer starts. But Hayward and Mack turn it over to often.

They were spectacular on defense last night. They had us under duress the whole time forcing us into errors. Would have helped if we could have made a shot somewhere in the first quarter.

Read the OP again and maybe try a different response.

Uh, you wanted a TO number that factored on a per 100 possession basis, right?

TOV%
Turnover Percentage (available since the 1977-78 season in the NBA); the formula is 100 * TOV / (FGA + 0.44 * FTA + TOV). Turnover percentage is an estimate of turnovers per 100 plays.

So how did I respond wrong? Or did you just fail to actually look at the link and just wanted to respond with a condescending remark?

I looked at the link but I just wanted to respond with a condescending remark.

I wasn't smart enough to realize that TO% already takes into account PACE.

My bad.

The worst passer so far this season is Joe Johnson. I'm surprised no one has brought up the lackadaisicalness of his play so far. The guy does have talent but some of his passes have been BEYOND CARELESS. Joe needs to take better care of the ball. I get the feeling he is playing at half speed right now trying to conserve himself for later in the season. He knows the grind very well. So maybe that explains it.

It's not all his fault. When you get a guy who does a lot of iso work the other 4 players tend to watch and get a little flat-footed - this explains some of his turnovers.

Jazz haven't had an iso guy since Jefferson - and he never passed out of the post so it wasn't an issue.
