I think we can go by what we know about the players as of today. I don't think you can say that Irving is going to be better than such and such player based on his potential. That said, I would have picked Irving if I didn't pick Tim Hardaway.

In the entire history of the NBA, you'd place Irving in the top 24 PGs to ever play?
If I had to choose between PGs like Parker (who's great btw), John Wall, Mark Price, etc., then yes, I'd be likely to take Irving, simply because he has all the elements needed to run a team like mine. He shoots from range better than Parker or Wall, and gets in the lane better than Price. His timing on plays is excellent and he's a great passer. By the end of next season, people are going to call him a top-5 PG in the league.
