Here's the thing -- they like Monk. They really need shooting, since Simmons isn't a shooter (yet). The third pick should be Jackson, but it might not stay with Philly.

I agree... I'd look to move down or have a plan to alleviate some of their combo forward logjam. It might be more prudent to take Jackson or Tatum and trade Covington. Would give them a year to see what they have in Saric, Simmons, Embiid, Jackson/Tatum... they already have Luwawu and Justin Anderson... not that those two factor into your decision making, but would mean less time for one of them for sure.

I mean, you are voting who you think the 3rd pick is, regardless of trades.

I wonder if LA would trade Ball to Philly if they'd eat the Deng or Mozgov contract. I'd try to do it if I was LA... Lonzo I think can be great in the right situation, but some of the clown show going on in LA may not work well. I think they are much better organizationally than a year or two ago, but I'm not sold on the current management and ownership stuff.

I think Lonzo can still be good, but it's a weird fit with Russell (more so defensively) and he has no charisma which is something I think they need.

Lonzo is an amazing fit with Russell on offense, near perfect actually. Defense will probably be a problem, but offensively it's about as good as it can get for lottery fit.

I think the Philly basketball fit is perfect. I also am not sure I'd make all my plans with Russell in mind. Guy seems really immature. They need some leadership and I am not sure Lonzo is a leader... not saying he isn't just he's so overshadowed by his dad.

They need to clear the contracts by next summer... I think they will be able to do it, but if they were close to indifferent on Fox and Ball I'd poke around and see what Philly might offer.

IDK, I think Philly would be OK, but not great at all. They are going to run a super weird system with a Simmons running point and Embiid being the focal point of the offense, without a ton of spacing.

Lakers run an offense that is really close to what UCLA runs, and they (in theory) should have a lot of shooters/scorers/people who can run.

Monk is by far the best fit. But I think they take Jackson.

I think Frank N would actually be the best fit. Projects as a George Hill type, guy who can potentially guard 1-3 and shoot really well but has questionable PG skills.

I bet Luol Deng is jealous of Joe Johnson. I mean, think about it... they both played for Miami, they both were free agents, they were both suited by the jazz, and Luol decided the Lakers was the best job. Then he had a miserable year making bank, but at a high stress job, enjoying LA traffic. Sucks to be a poor trade piece instead of Joe Jesus.

I say they take the shooter, monk.
