JazzFanz Official Draft Rumors Thread '13

Didn't see this posted....

Spence Checketts on 1280 says he called around and did some checking on who the Jazz like. Word is the Jazz want to move up, but they are pretty tight lipped about the target. Spence said he finally found a guy who told him the Jazz target would be McCollum and the price was probably #14 and Burks.

If it happens ....I told you so.

Also, I posted on that Gerald Green thing yesterday and was soundly trashed for suggesting it. Now today everyone thinks its a good idea?

That's waaaayyyyy too much for anyone in this draft. You're essentially trading the #12 pick (from a better draft) and a #14 pick for CJ. IMO, that's not a good deal.

Why not sit tight and see if someone like Bazz slips all the way down to #14?

hell ya I say hell no! You don't trade away a guy in Kanter that you can build a contender around. Put Favors next to him, just makes Kanter that much better. There's nothing special about anything we're getting back from the Cavs. Your young son, you'll learn.

I agree. I think Kanter has potential to be a top 3 big in the NBA in a year or two. Noel has potential to be a solid starter, maybe. You don't trade away that much potential for that little potential coming back.

This. I was on the trade Burks bandwagon early on, but the more this draft process goes on, the less I like it and the more I think Burks is better than everyone outside of McLemore. I'd give up Burks for McLemore and maybe toss in #21. That's it. I say just take BPA when you pick knowing he probably won't be on the roster in 3 years.

The only explanation is that they think CJ is a cornerstone piece to this Jazz team down the road. I can't think of any other explanation on why they would trade Burks and the 14th pick.

I posted that exact thing here yesterday before Spence made his statement. Hmmm.. wonder where he got the info. lol

14 and Burks is dumb man. I'd maaaaaaaaaaybe do it for Burke, but no one else. Honestly. Probably not even for Burke

I like CJ as much as anyone on here (well, almost anyone) but I don't know if he has the athleticism to be a "cornerstone" piece. Burks on the other hand...

CJ? I see him as more of a Brandon Knight type player than Deron. He doesn't have the vision, the athleticism, or the attitude to be Deron. The comparisons to Steph Curry or Damien Lillard aren't accurate either. Those 2 are smooooottthhh operators. I don't see CJ with the type of ballhandling skills as those 2. Especially Curry, who is a sick mix of Steve Nash, Ray Allen, and White Chocolate Williams with his ballhandling skills.

I don't like giving up Burks. If he and Ty aren't compatible, then play the hell out of him this year to boost his value and trade him by the trade deadline. Don't trade him now, where his value is probably at an all-time low. He's part of the C4 for crying out loud and we are giving up on him already?

I say sit tight and see who falls to us @ 14. We know someone will. MCW, Bazz, or some big. Someone is going to drop.
