Just refrain from personal insults.

Does worse stuff happen every day on jazzfanz and not get a warning? Yep.

Jazzfanz, like the world, is not always fair.

But if you know you're under the microscope then it's on you to follow the rules.

I've been there. There are times I've felt I was given a ridiculous amount of leeway even when I know my posts were reported. There are other times I've gotten nailed when I didn't think my posts were even close to the line. For me the worst has been when threads were closed that I felt were important and were generating a lot of important discussion but because the topic was emotional the thread was closed because I went too far expressing raw emotions in response to what I felt were the truly offensive posts.

It sucks man.

This site has a very hands off approach right up until they feel they need to go hands on. You're in the hands on bubble. Just let the drama fade and it's back to normal for you/
This.

This thread is a pretty obvious sign he thrives on the drama. So when his fun of calling people vile racist **** and other "mild insults" gets interrupted he needs to ramp up the drama. No loss for JF imo. It isn't about conformity on this forum, it is about trying to keep a modicum of respect in our interactions. Yeah the moderating isn't perfect, but where is anything perfect. For the most part I feel the moderators do a good job of addressing the issues that arise, without being draconian. But the constant personal attacks are ridiculous and uncalled for and frankly are the purview of jr high locker rooms. That isn't the atmosphere we want. We are childish enough without stooping to personal attacks. This forum is unique among the forums I visit in the personal nature of the conversations and the interactions tend to be more intense, largely because we are so emotionally invested in the conversations and the team, as fandom tends to attract passionate individuals. But there is still no need to fill it with personal insults when we feel an argument isn't going our way. If that is what drives you then go ahead and dive head-first into the cesspool that is twitter. We won't miss it here at all.

I actually wish the mods were more strict. I prefer people to not be dicks to each other.
I post on cougarboard and they are extremely strict. You are not allowed to be an *** hole to people on that forum and i like it that way. I have gotten suspended for extremely minor things and i just shrug my shoulders and remember not to be a dick next time.

I think the world needs less name calling and insulting so im good with any bans or suspensions or whatever for people being dicks. Myself included.

Cy does add a lot of value to the board. Agree of disagree, his reasoning is typically sound and grounded in reality. I have never been on the receiving end of one of his insults becauseI read a lot more than I post. Cy, just tone down the personal attacks but stick around and keep the debates going.

I dont think he is able to tone down the personal attacks.
