What's new

Jeff Teague

Jeff Teague is a RFA this offseason and had put together a very nice season this year.

Averaging 14 pts, 7 ast, 2 rebs on 45% FG, 35% 3FG, 88% FT.

Will ATL match the max for him? Will the Jazz make a run at him? Should the Jazz attempt to max him out?

I can't find a Jeff Teague thread so here we go.

Color me inTeague'd. Oooooooooo. Go****yourself.

Color me confused. If you are not saying that you want to offer Teague the Max, then what are you saying? You did not say any other number in there than offering him Max money. Then you go and neg me because you think I am the one that said the stuff about the Max? Learn how to type. Learn how to read, then learn how to have a conversation.

Obviously. Good job.

Ok, if it was not you that said Jeff Teague, and max, then who hacked your account? If you don't want to offer him the max, then explain what you mean by "would ATL match the max" Seriously, just explain what you mean by this. I mean, if you want to offer Teague a max contract, you are a bonehead. If you want to offer him something else, then do tell. You then said "should the Jazz Max him out?" If you are telling me to learn how to read, then tell us what you mean by that. Obviously, I have read your post, and it fairly obviously states that you suggested we offer him the max.

The few games I've seen Teague, I was not impressed with his defense. He certainly isn't worth the MAX, 6-7 million a year is all I would pay the guy if I wanted to sign him. I still don't think he is the right guy for the Jazz system so I would pass on him.

if Utah wants a "max" type player, they are better off trading up and drafting Burke or Carter-Williams. That way they aren't paying them max money for at least 3 more years! They are both going to be as good or better than Bledsoe, Teague, and any others that Utah has been rumored to like.

just sayin

Im like everyone else apparently..... I like Teague quite a bit (better than Bledsoe, Jennings, or anybody we can hope to get in this draft), but there is no way in hell I would pay him the max.

Like cryone said... 10 million is as high as I would go..... and atl probably matches.

questioning versus advocating

bline, If you read the question carefully, it seems to me he posed a question to catalyze a discussion. Very different from advocating for an answer.

The jazz don't bid on RFA's. They just draft and recycle every year after those players they drafted turn to RFA's and get signed somewhere else.

Comparing him to other players around the league like Mo, Devin, etc, he is probably worth about 8/year. However Atlanta will match that, so if we think he is still going to trend upward we would need to offer more than that to get him.

yep, that's why I said "he suggested we offer him the max" now it becomes questioning vs suggesting vs advocating. Whatever. The guy was intrigued with Jeff Teague, and asked if we could steal him away from Atlanta with a max offer. Max for Jeff Teague is ridiculous. That is all.
