Jefferson lacks Fire

Further evidence of biggest offseason need: A player who can lead.

This. If Al isn't going to lead this team, who is? Our leading scorer should be a leader in good times & bad. Not give himself and the rest of the team an excuse to lose. Whether he's right about the outcome or not isn't the point. That's not how to be a team guy. That's not how to get your teammates fired up to win, or at least extend the series and go down fighting. That's exactly how you give up, collapse, and check out on your team when they're depending on you.

Bad form, Al. I hope you sit on the bench tonight and watch Favors show you how to defend like you mean it and play with heart. 'Cause you don't seem to have that.

Wait a minute... Are there actually people on this board that would take Jefferson over D-Will? My advice to you is to never be an NBA GM.

jefferson is a nice guy.

but he is a loser on the court.

trade him for tom tibbedou.

al jefferson would be perfect playing next to boozer

I strongly agree with this. If we ship out Al, who's there has a barrier of sorts for Favors? I'm not sure how Favors will psychologically hold up the media once he becomes a starter. Any strong leaders out there as free agents? We do have Watson and could re-sign Tinsley. How is Pryzbilla as a leader?

seriously jefferson still starts after saying this loser talk.
i woudl thank that looser and send him home early. it would send a message to the team that losers are not welcome.
it wuld spark a much eneded fire under their asses.

why does jjefferson get a free pass, He is a black hole and doesnt play defense.
getting rid of jefefrson ebfore game 2 would have been addition by substraction and jazz might have won that game

Sad to see such a weird comment from Al. Also, has he seen OKC? They're firing on all cylinders. Al's comments seem pretty short-sighted, not to mention I've never heard of a starter conceding a series to the other team before the final game is played. Here's hoping this experience shows the Jazz brass that Big Al, nice as he is, needs to be nice on someone else's team next season. Going to the play-offs has possibly helped move the Jazz in the direction of moving him, even if his trade value is lessened.

Let's say the Wiz end up with the #2 pick. If you're them, would you take Jefferson (he can play the 4, Nene the 5), the #8 pick (if we get it), and a future 1st (protected) for the #2? Would you give that up to get MKG?

Al Jefferson's trade value is lower than when we got him.

Not a bad gamble to make, but it backfired insanely hard if you believe that Al was the elephant-in-the-room regarding Deron's frustration last year and we saw how all of that ended.
