So the fact that we signed a D-Leaguer to a 3-year contract, with the 2nd/3rd year not being guaranteed is a pretty good indicator of the team's philosophy for this upcoming year: Sign cheap players to 1 year contracts, trade for Marion and draft pick, tank, and play the young guys no matter what.

This was my thought as well when I saw the news. Interesting. Maybe this is why the jazz brought in Lindsey then promoted. KOC.

More importantly, you can cut him after this year if he sucks, or you can keep him for 2 more cheap years if he is decent/good.

From what I can gather he is a Gary Neal type player. He is a good defender/athlete who can shoot. But he is 6'3". So he would be strictly a bench guy. He did shot 39% from 3 last year in the D league.
