Jeremy Evans Appreciation thread...

According to Boone Corbin told Evans to shoot going down the court and Evans took a face-up 15 footer in McRoberts face and nailed it. That clearly sky-rocketed his confidence and he start shooting without thinking or hesitating.

Good coaching.

Loved his game tonight... Hack you called it big ups for you...

Still think he is a 4th big...

Would like him to get Kanter minutes next year at the 4 position... plus maybe 3-5minutes at SF!!

Who has hated on Evans?

Siromar and ccrackstar are a couple that come to mind. Go check my thread titled kanter and favors possibly starting. But its not just them I see it all the time. I'd say the forum is about 40% for evans and the other 60% dont think he should be on the court. I disagree completely. I think he helps quite a bit. I think he needs about 18 min a night. We need to take minutes from other players who dont do shet for us.

Evans isn't a perfect 3 or 4 but I think we can fit him in there some where. Just bench Marvin, Watson, and take some minutes from Al. Then we could run a rotation like this. Not exactly. But something like it. Switch Kanter and Favors if you want. Just get Marvin and Watson out of there.

Burks/Tinsley - then mo when he comes back
Hayward/Burks/Mo
Carroll/Evans/Millsap
Millsap/Kanter/Evans
Favors/Al/Kanter

We could mix and match line ups according to matchups and who is playing good. Basically Im saying those are the only people who should be playing.

Evans' pull up mid range jumper is unguard-able. We may be seeing a lot more of that shot next year.

Probably not. This game will mean nothing to the Jazz. You are just being a smart *** anyways.

Im just pumped for him that he got to play. I think he is fun to watch. But it dont matter. He'll never be a rotation guy here or probably anywhere else. So called pros want prototypical types. Thats too bad. I think he helps win.

I did, and I am not entirely convinced. I never said he couldn't shoot, in fact I remember him hitting a few mid range shots last year. I admit, I listened to the game against the 'cats' on the radio, so I couldn't watch him on the court. Does he move now? Can he dribble more than one or two times without losing the ball? He blocked some shots, made some shots, and I'm glad, I like the guy. I need to watch him now that he's got some more practice time and see if he can move within the offence enough to get time, because he's one of the very few players who actually have a contract with the team over the next two years.

Evans is underrated he is an unique help defender, his hang time is great. At one position he blocked Sessions twice in the air with his left and then right hand. I'm not sure if he did it on purpose but it was awesome. And i didn't know that he was that good at mid-range jumpers.

Evans looked good and needs more time on the floor. Damn wet bandit takin up minutes from guys who deserve them way more.

Another quality game for Jeremy. He's earning his contract now and is valuable as more than just Gordon's friend. Still don't think he starts because of his wierd non standard size, but being the fourth big wouldn't be bad.

Al and Paul can both go now.

(edit: third big would be Marvin, he doesn't mind coming off the bench and I think he may be a better 4 than a 3)

If you can match him up against stretch 4s who won't punish him off the dribble or with their backs to the basket, he contributes. Very active and alert. Looked like a poor man's AK47 tonight.
