Jimmer Fredette withdraws from the draft

so if he makes it big, do you think there'll be a rash of babies named Jimmer?

and do you think it'd work equally well for boy babies and girl babies?
 
Personally I think Fredette will be able to score in the NBA. He is very skilled and strong. Defensively he needs to continue to improve and he needs to improve his ability to pass off the dribble. But I expect he will get drafted next year.
 
Ohhh! I see from the video that he has a football background. The second coming of Harp?
 
Jimmer thinking he MIGHT have a chance to go first round. Since when did they start selling weed at BYU?
Most of the guys like Jimmer just want a chance to go to the combine and get their names out there, so teams will be looking at them for next season. Stern is tired of that game and moved up the deadline for declaring by almost a month. It's one of the few things Herr Stern has done that I actually agree with.

Fredette will have a nice career in Europe.

I think the problem might be more with the quickness of the perimeter defenders, though his craftiness will certainly negate that a bit. I think an upgrade in decision making will take care of that first part. He doesn't have to shoot it when he is near the rim and surrounded by bigs, and I think he'll learn that. It seemed like he had a few games where he got stuffed multiple times in the paint, but I think most of them were games when he was battling Mono.

I think it all comes down to him being enough of a true a point guard. He's farther along in that regard then the Jaycee Carrolls of the world were, but he has a lot of developing do to this year in that role. He'll go first round if he can show that. He will surprise people at the pre-draft combine with his athleticism.
 
I think he may make the league, but it's gonna be a Ronnie Price or even Sandiatta Gaines (spelling) type role (very few minutes if any). There is no way he can guard the Billups, Williams, Rhondo's etc. of the league. No way. Boy does have nice range though.
 
What does Eddie House have on Jimmer? All of the concerns about are the same problems House has had during his 10 year NBA career helping teams as a sniper off the bench. Jimmer is bigger and a better passer, however.

House can't defend, is unathletic and lacks quickness, but he can fill it up from downtown.
