Yep, Florida had a very solid front line last year. I only watched a few minutes here and there of that game. Was Jimmer bothered by the faster guards Florida had (that he would be accustomed to playing against most nights). I assume he was mainly guarded by Boynton?

PKM, you can see in the video he took Boynton of the dribble repeatedly. He also torched Florida last year in the tourney with the same guard line as this year. I watched every second of the game this year and last and Boynton had nothing for him. His shot simply wasn't falling early.

Florida, like most every team Jimmer saw this season, used taller 2's and 3's along with a lot of traps to distrupt him. I'd say they did an "average" job.

I have zero idea how he'll translate in the NBA, and I'm a fan of his, but please don't spout retarded "facts" that are easily proven false about what he did or didn't do in college. And the only difference between Locke and us is a microphone and a silver spoon. If all his numbers and opinions were as good as he thinks he'd be on the other side of the microphone.....being interviewed with "NBA executive" said before his name.

Questions of any prospect's game translating to the NBA seem to be more prevalent this year than most any other. That's why people are suggesting it's a "weak" draft.

With Biyombo not testing well, his stock will most likely put him on the fringe of being a lotto pick.

I think that Jimmer at 12 seems more like a sure than Biyombo. Talk about question marks across the board. He plays D, but man, what a liability on offense he could be. Jimmer has similar questions, just on the defensive end. The biggest difference though is the fact that we don't know if Jimmer can play defense. We know that with Bismack, we're getting someone with zero shooting ability. Patience vs instant impact. Take your pick. For me, I'll take the best option, it's Jimmer.

Biyombo's a few years younger than Jimmer, has elite size and athleticism to play C in the NBA (something Jimmer does not have at any position), plays defense infinitely better defense than Jimmer, and offense is the least of our concerns up front. Does Jimmer blow Biyombo away offensively? I suppose so but I'm not sold on that translating against elite athletes night in and night out. The flip side is Biyombo could become much better on offense given his age, athleticism and work ethic. Could Jimmer's defense get better? Perhaps but I wouldn't lay money on any sort of substantial growth.

This. If both are there at 12, which would stun me, I'd take Biyombo in a heartbeat. That would be an incredible steal.

When I'm not foaming at the mouth with hate for Jimmer and realistically appraise his NBA niche and worth, the headache just keeps coming back to me of how much you have to hide him defensively. I don't know about anyone else, but for me, if the Jazz have a billion assets, I look to build a team where you don't have to hide anyone (except perhaps a superstar). You are as strong as your weakest link, and the thought of Jimmer guarding NBA guards is terrifying. You might be able to get away with that in the regular season, but come playoff time, a weakness of that caliber there is not going to fly.

I mean seriously, can even the Jimmer HOMERS imagine him guarding either a quick or crafty PG IN THE NBA? BYU hid him for his entire career in a myriad of schemes, but he's not going to have that luxury in the NBA, especially against infinitely steeper competition.

I can't wait forbhe draft and next year because wether or not Jimmer is drafted by the jazz there is still going to be a lot more posts about him. There will be I told you so's from either pros or cons.
