I thought some of you Jazzfanz would love this!

This is unmitigated speculation, but oh-so-juicy.
Which is why I'm passing it along.
I'm hoping to get a job at the National Enquirer.
I got an e-mail from a reader who says he was in a Fanzz store in Idaho on Wednesday, talking with the salesperson abut the possibility of Jimmer Fredette playing for the Jazz. The two had a difference of opinion. But when the discussion escalated, the salesperson said, "Dude, we have a SKU (stock keeping unit) number for Jimmer's jersey in the computer already."
He then brought up the screen and showed a number for the "Jimmer Vibe" Jazz jersey in sizes small, medium, large and extra large.
"The decision (to draft Fredette) has already been made," wrote the reader.
And now, a moment for rebuttal from Yours Truly.
First, having a SKU number doesn't mean the jerseys are already made. It's a number in a computer. SKU's can be created, suspended or deleted without anything ever being made or sold.
Second, I was in the locker room after the Utes lost in the 1998 NCAA Finals to Kentucky. Guess what was on the floor in boxes? Tee shirts that said, "Utah Utes, 1998 National Champions." Having an item made up doesn't mean it will ever happen.
Third, the Jazz have no control over Fredette getting drafted ahead of the No. 12 pick, tee shirts or not.
And finally, if the Jazz draft a guard at No. 3, the chances of taking another guard are unlikely.
This concludes the public service portion of Rockmonster Unplugged.
