Jimmer to the Jazz?

It was a group effort. The defense kept them close but the offense had to score the comeback/go ahead points.

Giving Tebow no credit is no better than giving the D no credit.

My first comment was mearly goofing around about Tebow/Big Al.

Oh I'll admit to being completely biased against Tebow. The Broncos board I frequent was unreadable during his time there. Getting Jimmer here would have the same effect on this and any other Jazz board.

Tebow made some plays. But it could be argued that he would not have had to make spectacular plays if he did his job the 1st 3.5 quarters. The defense on the other hand did their job for the entire game. Including covering Tebow's *** for 3.5 quarters. And making those heroic comebacks possible.

That is why I give the credit to the defense and not Tebow. In the few games the defense failed the Broncos lost horribly. Where was Tebow to cover their bad games?

Your smelling skills are impeccable. Of course Burks has a higher ceiling but.......

-Jimmer has a THREE point higher PER score over Burks

-Has a higher FG% than Burks

-Higher FT% than Burks

-The same PPG on 4 minutes LESS per game


Jimmer is currently more effecient than Burks. Burks value is his ceiling but when looking at Jimmer you would have to believe that in the right situation he could keep getting better.

Jimmer can't pass, dribble, run an offense, guard an NBA player, get a rebound, get a bucket in a one on one situation.

Only a fool would attempt to compare Jimmer to Burks.

And this post is why Jimmer wouldn't be good here.

Tebow is good for up to 19 point sin an NFL game. Anything beyond that is way outside his league. I think Tebow would be decent as a TE.

What do you think about Jimmer in a roation/situational role. Such as S.A. where Jimmer floats around the 3 pt line but is not a primary ball handler. Thru the flow of the offense his team gets him open and he catches and shoots. He can stretch the floor. To me that is what he is best suited for.

I actually disagree. I think he would hinder that teams ability to attack the basket. Do you play him with Parker? Or does he fill the role Gary Neal plays? He's not as athletic as Neal so I don't think he's a good fit for their system. I really do think his size and lack of athleticism makes him a very tough player to play in a solid rotation. Why would they want a guy like him when they have Green, Leonard, Ginobili and Neal who are all far superior players and fit their system better.

I know you did not say they would rather have him. My point was there are a ton of guys who could fit that system and not be lacking the things that Jimmer is. Which to me means Jimmer is just not a very good fit in their system. Because he's not better than a lot of options who fit their system better.

What do you think about Big Al just standing near the paint. Jazz pass him the ball and he turns in and shoots? Then on the other end, he guards, well he stands, umm, he just tries to look like he's doing something. Jimmer is a HUGE liability on defense. And he is one dimensional on offense. Jazz have had too many one-way players (Okur, Boozer, AK, etc.). If we're talking about the #21 pick, I'd rather see the Jazz draft Schroeder or Larkin or several other players that will likely be available.

Sorry I did not mean on the actual S.A. team. I am just saying a team with a system that does most of the work for him. Like if you go heavy on the bigs and want to stretch the floor for a few minutes.

I am not advocating Jimmer to the jazz. Just trying to see what people feel about him in a lmited role like that. Isee you disagree and you bring up a good point. While he would work there are plenty of others that work better.

Jimmer just needs his confidence back. He has to be on a team that will let him be a gunner off the bench if is ever going to have an impact in the NBA. I don't want that for Utah, but he could possibly do it somewhere. I mean, if Gary Neal can do it in SA, I don't know why Jimmer couldn't.

Comparing Big Al to Jimmer in my scenario is pointless. Big Al is a starter that plays major minutes. I am talkign about Jimmer being 10th man on the bench and playing may 5 minutes one game and then none for 3 games then 7 minutes the next.

And you'll be overpaying due to his draft position. For 5-7 mins/per, I'd rather have a draft pick this season who will be developing on his rookie contract. I could care less about guys that are in the 10-15th spots on the roster, other than perhaps having a couple of vet-minimum guys who can step up if injuries happen (or rookie picks to do the same). Jimmer cannot be a part of a 3-wing rotation. He can't be the backup PG. Look at any mock and you can find at least 5 players at #21 who are much more likely to add value to the Jazz as backups at their respective positions.
