Jimmer to the Jazz?

And you'll be overpaying due to his draft position. For 5-7 mins/per, I'd rather have a draft pick this season who will be developing on his rookie contract. I could care less about guys that are in the 10-15th spots on the roster, other than perhaps having a couple of vet-minimum guys who can step up if injuries happen (or rookie picks to do the same). Jimmer cannot be a part of a 3-wing rotation. He can't be the backup PG. Look at any mock and you can find at least 5 players at #21 who are much more likely to add value to the Jazz as backups at their respective positions.

SOrry should have included that I do not want the Jazz to trade for him. At most I'd be ok with them signing him once he is a free agent.

Jimmer can't pass, dribble, run an offense, guard an NBA player, get a rebound, get a bucket in a one on one situation.

Only a fool would attempt to compare Jimmer to Burks.

Only a fool....

And this post is why Jimmer wouldn't be good here.

Cant pass?... everyone in the nba can pass, its a very simple thing to do.
He can dribble just fine as well, and can get a bucket in a 1 on 1 situation depending on the situation and who is guarding him.

Like someone else said, if gary neal can play then there is a possibility that jimmer can as well.

OK, then I think we're not so far apart as it first appeared. I doubt the Kings just outright release him, though.

I think about the only team where Jimmer would be an effective contributor is any team that LeBron is on. LeBron might be the only player good enough defensively to cover for Jimmer, and Jimmer could sit in the corner and take a defender with him to open up the offense for LeBron.

Sorry I did not mean on the actual S.A. team. I am just saying a team with a system that does most of the work for him. Like if you go heavy on the bigs and want to stretch the floor for a few minutes.

I am not advocating Jimmer to the jazz. Just trying to see what people feel about him in a lmited role like that. Isee you disagree and you bring up a good point. While he would work there are plenty of others that work better.
Don't be sorry just having a conversation and your thread is a decent one

My comment actually goes for most teams in the league. In college Jimmer was a ball dominant player that was needed to score. The problem is the team that runs a system similar to that drafted him. And his skills are not good enough in the NBA to work in that role. Finding him a role on a team with a system may make him look better but isn't there players better suited to that role? My answer to that would be yes. I could see Jimmer on a team that needs a shooter off of the bench in a limited role. Preferably a team that has a stud at SG/SF that draws a lot of double teams and needs to space the floor. Like Miami or OKC. I just think his liabilities make him a much lesser option than a lot of other players available.
.
Since the Jazz do not have the kind of system or players I think Jimmer could co-exist with successfully and also don't believe his fans are worth the hassle. Therefore I don't want him on the Jazz.

I compared him to Gary Neal. Unfortunately I think Neal is a better player than Jimmer.

So lets hypothetically say the Jazz buy a late first round draft pick and trade it for Jimmer. Would y'all hate that move?

Huh, I thought cyrone made the comp.... either way, talent wise I can't see a huge difference between the two although I'm sure jimmer was better in college and a higher draft pick.
I don't think you, me, or anyone has seen enough of nba jimmer to determine how good he is or isn't yet but I see no reason he can't have a role similar to gary neal..... I mean we are talking about gary neal here, nobody had ever heard of him 2 years ago right?

Has Jimmer done anything so far to be deserved to be traded for even the #21 pick?

Didn't think so. Like Thomas Robinson (also a Kings castoff apparently), I would give a second rounder.
